  1. Oh, you have this chump ahead of him: 23 G, 124 IP, 3.03 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 8.7 k/9, 1.45 bb/9 Nice try! Yophery: 5 HR, 221 AVG, 316 OBP, 657 OPS TBF, if Yophery added strength, he'd be a top 20 guy. He's just not there.
  2. Braiden Ward EV 76.4 mph IKF EV 84.6 mph worst in MLB '25 Someone check Ward's bat.
  3. Braiden Ward's Prospect Savant page is the ying yang of EV & Speed.
  4. He steals bases like Ted Williams. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=willia001ted
  5. How is Rodriguez #16? Makes no sense at all even if you just read the write up. He has a whole lot of nothing going on. I wouldn't have him in my top 40 TBH.
  6. Lux tax vs revenue in JH's pocket looks better for JH. Cash paid vs revenue in JH's pocket looks worse for JH. Maybe? JH can/will trade any contract once he doesn't like it anymore. Crochet 28M Lux/28M Cash Anthony 16M Lux/7M Cash Bello 9M Lux/6M Cash KC 7.5M Lux/2M Cash Raf 6.25M Lux/2M Cash Whitlock 4.6M Lux/7.25M Cash
  7. I disagree that it's harder to string hits together. Even with all the changes, there was only a difference in 5% in hits from 1985 to 2026. Is that 5% decrease really that big of a rally killer? I'm not so sure. It's just that teams have moved towards launch angle and exit velo to maximize EVERY at bat rather than simply use what worked for 100 years (moving runners over, going oppo intentionally). Unfortunately for fans, there's no measurable difference in runs scored between the mid 80's and now (including letting pitchers hit) when you factor in the extra 4 teams that are now in the league. Now, it's a station to station game where not much happens until there is a big swing. Games are a lot less exciting IMO, a lot less action going on inning by inning.
  8. Maybe you don't know how to use emojis then, because you really ended that post confusingly.
  9. I'm trying not to pay too much attention to the complaints. Just ready for Opening Day TBH.
  10. With the WBC going on, there will be a lot of "need body guys" this ST.
  11. BAL - Jeisson Cabrera - AA reliever (MiLB journeyman) PIT - Antwone Kelly - AA starter (7th ranked prospect, on 40 man)
  12. I'm sorry, did you hit your head? Moving runners over and productive outs are a large part of small ball.
  13. Franklin Arias gets his first ST action.
  14. When Greenville relievers are giving up runs, you can't worry about team stats (or any ST stats). Labriola has only 0.2 IP at a level higher than Salem.
  15. A walk can turn into a triple with the right player. 1985 Cardinals: #1 fWAR #6 R #1 3B #25 HR #1 SB #4 BB #4 OBP #25 GDP #2 TZ (defensive runs above average) #1 Fielding % ? Bunts (not tracked)
  16. You've seen those AAA guys that aren't on the 40 man roster get lit up in ST though, right?
  17. https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/mlb/boston-red-sox/tomase-noah-song-is-dave-dombrowskis-chance-to-stick-it-to-red-sox/287825/ The Red Sox hit a Rule 5 home run with Garrett Whitlock. They may strike out looking on Noah Song. Chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom made the calculated risk not to place him on the 40-man roster this winter, gambling that no organization would take him in the Rule 5 draft and commit to placing him on the big league roster, but Phillies president Dave Dombrowski had other ideas. As smart as the Red Sox looked for swiping Whitlock from the Yankees following Tommy John surgery, they could equally regret the decision not to place Song on the 40-man roster over some lesser prospects this winter. That outcome is no longer in their hands. Dombrowski no doubt relishes the opportunity to outmaneuver the organization that fired him less than a year after winning the World Series, and you have to admire the roll of the dice on such a premium talent. Aggression is a hallmark of Dombrowski's approach, however, and the Phillies boast a deep enough roster, theoretically, to carry Song as a low-leverage arm while he learns on the job. If the Phils can manage him through the season, they will have successfully pilfered a player with the potential to be one of the top pitching prospects in the game. There is some precedent for this in another sport. The Cowboys drafted Navy quarterback Roger Staubach 129th overall in the 1964 NFL draft and then waited as he completed his military obligation, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. There's no telling where Song's career goes from here, but if he succeeds in Philadelphia, it will be a black eye for a Red Sox organization so focused on building through homegrown talent. All Bloom and Co. can do now is hope he doesn't become the one they let slip away. - by dumb dumb John Tomase who should have been run out of town 25 years ago
  18. Romy is a good platoon bench bat. His defense is only good enough for the right side of the IF. Monasterio can play all over the IF. I think it's two different skillsets TBH. I think Monasterio is a cheaper version of IKF.
  19. Mets have spent and win a WS every few years, right? DD got that nice ring for the Phillies. Padres...
  20. At that point in time, it wasn't worth it to throw a guy who has been out 3 years on your active roster.
  21. 1. I was told by everyone on here that "there's no way he hasn't been throwing every day." In fact, he hadn't thrown at all, which is why he got injured right off the bat. 2. When he was drafted DD stated (paraphrased) "it's a gambit, we don't know if he'll throw 85 or 95." I think the intent was just to get him out of the Sox org. Sneak him through the IL process the first season if he looks closer to the 95 scale, but needs work. In year 2, have him up for the minimum time allowed and then send him to AAA. If he didn't look close to being ready, they were fine with just DFA'ing him at some point. There was no real long term goal here, which is what Noah Song really needed for his career.
