This year teased a return to form when he opened with a 1.39 ERA through mid-June, only for a hamstring strain to derail everything. The Mets watched him hit the injured list again, lose some edge upon returning, and ultimately slide to Triple-A in a move no one could have imagined back in 2023.

    I don't know what kind of value Senga has after needing to spend the end of last season in AAA and still being owed 30M.

    Back to back seasons with 200+ k's and under 40 bb's. If all you are looking at is ERA, you aren't looking at the whole story. Better FIP and WHIP than Bello last year.

    Mookie played CF for most of '15 before being sent to RF for the rest of his Sox tenure. If that's what they chose to do with Rafaela, it's better than sending him back to the IF. I don't think any team wants Grissom in a trade as he doesn't have any options left and has to be on an MLB roster or DFA'd. He's a negative in any trade. Suarez is a terrible 3b. I like Schwarber, but it doesn't make financial sense to pay him AND Masa to be on the same roster. They would need to find a way to get rid of Masa first, which isn't going to happen. What's the plan for the right side of the IF with your moves?

    There was a second update where they took out Clarke and added Leighton Finley at 60. Here's some of what Mike Andrews posted: Debuts Luke Heyman at 34 Gerardo Rodriguez at 60 Grades Connelly Early ceiling from 5.5 to 6** Mikey Romero ceiling from 5.5 to 5 Henry Godbout ceiling from 5.5 to 6** Tyler Uberstine projection from 4 to 4.5 Shane Drohan projection from 4 to 4.5 Jedixson Paez ceiling from 5.5 to 5 Yoeilin Cespedes ceiling from 6 to 5** Miguel Bleis ceiling from 5.5 to 5** Johanfran Garcia set at 4, 3-5.5 Not a surprise to see them decrease Cespedes and Bleis's ceilings. Early and Godbout are notable increases to ceilings. For reference, a 6 is an impact everyday player (not quite All Star level), while a 5 is just an average player.

    Not sure it has anything to do with when it is signed. Raffy had his signed prior to ST of '23 and it didn't take effect until '24.

    The budget was higher than 40M to be sure. They had more than that just coming off the books.

    I wouldn't be so sure about that. 2b is dinged a little in mph due to the proximity to 1b. For example, Gabriel Arias throws 92.9 mph at SS and 85.7 mph at 2b. If Polanco is at 79 mph at 2b and Story and Mayer are 82 and 81, I wouldn't rule out Polanco being able to have a stronger arm elsewhere. When he split time in '21, he was 78.5 at 2b and 83.9 at SS, which would be better than Story and Mayer. When Story was at 2b, he was only hitting 76 mph.

    If they get a lot of long term deals, they'll be over for years and years and would never be able to reset. I think they need a balance of both.

    Why do they need to be under this season? His contract is off the books next year. The CBT penalties typically reset with a new CBA as well.
