If Suzuki signs within a few days of the CBA being agreed upon, it'll show that it was in the works prior to the JBJ trade.

Ortiz's most HR's were from age 28-30. He never hit 40 HR's again after turning 31. His slugging was 570 or better from age 27-31. His production took a substantial hit when he turned 32 (as expected). He only slugged above 600 two more times in his career (2012 and 2016). Seems to make sense from a logical perspective. One of the bigger reasons he aged well is that he reduced his k rate as he got older.

Apparently, deputy commissioner Dan Halem said that MLB owners are willing to lose games over some of the outstanding issues. However, that might not work for some owners like Dick Monfort of the Rockies who complained about the struggle to afford running a franchise with increased costs due to security and COVID. Maybe paying Charlie Blackmon 20M/year wasn't a good idea? Who can save these poor owners from themselves?!?!?

That's about where I thought things would get finalized. We'll see. It could always go sideways if ownership doesn't give any concessions.
