  1. There were three 95-plus mph throws on infield outs in 2020. Tatis had two of them (topped by a 97.3 mph laser on a ground out). Xander Bogaerts had the other (96.1 mph) as he fielded a ball at shortstop, ran across the bag at second base and then threw to first with all of his momentum going in the direction of the throw.
  2. If Houck can hold up his part at the start of the season, I'd keep him there. Maybe he figures it out? Would be great for the Sox if they had two young starters like that.
  3. @alexspeier Darwinzon Hernandez is pitching a pair of innings today. He just struck out the side, all on fastballs.
  4. That was right when they inserted him as the closer to help minimize his innings coming off TJS.
  5. Expert 3 insists that he's a sexpert, but if there's a degree on his wall, I haven't seen it.
  6. Impossible, I rarely post after the work day is over and you are on here every night until the late late late late show is on.
  7. They are also stretching out Whitlock. I think Houck is starting for now just because he has the history in the rotation. To me, Whitlock has the higher starter ceiling and Houck would make a great closer.
  8. King.
  9. As the TalkSox historian, the last time I saw this happen was when a user was running multiple accounts. So moon, why are you running multiple accounts and fighting with yourself? Hmm?
  10. I'm not taking anything away from Vlad. Dude is a beast. Wander, we haven't seen enough of to say he's better than Judge or Devers.
  11. Devers and Judge had a higher WRC+ last year than Wander.
  12. 2b/SS 2022: Story/Xander 2023: Story/FA 2024: Yorke/Mayer, Story at DH
  13. It's a concern, but lesser if they are putting him at 2b.
  14. It takes a village.
  15. @chadjennings22 Small Red Sox bullpen updates: - Josh Taylor has a minor back issue. Unclear if he’ll be ready for Opening Day. - Austin Davis and Darwinzon Hernández are getting stretched out for multi-inning roles. - Alex Cora seems high on Hirokazu Sawamura as an important piece in Year 2. Surprised about DHern, but he was a SP for most of his MiLB tenure. I could see Sawamura making a leap this year.
  16. @SmittyOnMLB Josh Taylor questionable for Boston Red Sox Opening Day roster because of back issue Clearing up that LHP logjam.
  17. @PeteAbe Trevor Story is not yet in #RedSox camp. Malcontent?
  18. Now that they are over, they should bring in Zach Davies on a 1 year deal.
  19. Just remember, for everytime a ball is hit up the middle that Xander misses, Story was worse at lateral movement towards 1b than Bogey in 2022 (per OAA). Also, Story may be "faster" but Xander is quicker running from home to 1b. Seems like Story may be losing some athleticism?
  20. Jimenez currently hitting 1.000. Cordero is tied for the league lead in hits. Elih Marrero has a 1.000 OBP. Dalbec leads the league in HR and RBI.
  21. @SoxProspects 3/21 vs. ATL: 1. K Hernández CF 2. R. Devers 3B 3. X. Bogaerts SS 4. J. Martinez DH 5. C. Vázquez C 6. T. Shaw 1B 7. J. Bradley Jr. RF 8. J. Duran LF (#SP60 #4) 9. Y. Sánchez 2B P. M. Wacha
