  1. And re-sign him if you want to bring him back.
  2. I'm all in on just signing Bogey/Devers and calling it a day.
  3. 5 years. That's not relatively little experience IMO.
  4. I'd prefer an owner that stays out of the way. No more Pablo/Hanley or Desperate Dave moves. Stay the course.
  5. For Xander, his ISO and xSLG is way down and his BABIP is way up (career high of 390). Seems like he's been a little lucky this year.
  6. The Sox lose fans every year, just not psychopaths that post on messageboards in 2022.
  7. If he doesn't opt out, he's due 4/80. Maybe bumping him to 6/150 gets it done? Seager got 10 years, but was only 28 at the start of the deal. He was the only $200M+ deal last winter. I don't believe Xander will go for that much. Semien got 7/175 for age 31. Seems like a better comp if not too high considering that Story/Baez both got 6/140?
  8. If Winckowski stinks tonight, it’s because of Plawecki’s CERA regression.
  9. Is Sano better than Dalbec? Both are big bats with lots of swing and miss. Sano is older and more expensive. Neither is great in the field. IDK about trading for Sano. You could probably deal for him and to eat his salary and get some good prospects with it. I wouldn't pick up the club option for 2023 though. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/miguel-sano-593934?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
  10. An offseason signing? Ok. An inseason trade package? Pass.
  11. But not with LeBrOn JaMeS!
  12. And the Sox won't have to worry about eyeballs after the beginning of September.
  13. The problem with Bell is that he's horrible at 1b and his contract is up after this season. He's also going to command too high of a price tag.
  14. @redsoxstats Olney says, "a guy that other teams say is available is JD Martinez."
  15. @BeyondtheMnstr The Red Sox have designated righty Phillips Valdez for assignment and have moved newly acquired outfielder Abraham Almonte onto the 40-man roster.
  16. It can't be due to a small sample size though!
  17. I mentioned Division titles AND the WS. Maybe you just aren't that good at reading?
  18. Renfroe was bad last year in Fenway, but his DRS is much better in MIL. Hard to say what Verdugo would look like in RF in 2022 without actually seeing it.
  19. My assumption is that he is getting worse defensively. I can see that he is slowing down year over year on statcast. 2019 12 DRS 2020 7 DRS 2021 1 DRS 2022 -4 DRS Would he be better in a larger RF in Fenway? I don't see how.
  20. Personally, I know nothing about the attitude issues. To me, it just looks like his defense isn't getting any better as shown by the eye test and the advanced metrics.
  21. In a different park, Verdugo could reasonably play RF. Home at Fenway? No.
  22. And his bat will really need to be a carrying tool if it's going to LF.
  23. I'm not sure he can get to be "average" if that.
