  1. As I said above: "Sox originally had an agreement to trade Beni for Lee/Cordero straight up, but were able to expand the trade because they knew Mets had lots of interest in the deal. I look at it as two separate deals."
  2. If Perez signed here, Plawecki's CERA regression would have tanked Perez' career. He'd be pitching in Japan by now.
  3. And it was Danny Freakin' Santana, which is why I made the font larger. Former Sox get a bigger laugh. He's a true Bloom guy tho!
  4. Huh? I think it's hilarious that he's brining Danny Santana back. Santana has zero professional AB's this year.
  5. He's 28 next season and doesn't have any remaining upside. Let him go. I'd consider calling up Mieses and Ronaldo Hernandez to see if their bats can continue to stay hot. Both have hit very well since June 1.
  6. They have to decide between one of Houck and Whitlock and go for it full hog this offseason. They can't toe the line the way they did last offseason.
  7. The FIP and OPSa shows it's not playing up as much as it should.
  8. Conveniently ignoring the Paxton signing.
  9. It makes sense to keep throwing Duran out in CF. It doesn't make any sense to do that with Cordero at 1b and Arroyo in RF.
  10. @mlbtraderumors Red Sox, Danny Santana Agree To Minor League Deal
  11. Pretty much. Beni has a below average sprint speed for LFers. Out of the top 50 LFers, he's 31st. Out of 50, he's 24th running to 1b and he has the advantage of being lefthanded, just ahead of Verdugo. For defense, he's behind Verdugo for OAA and runs prevented. I don't think you'd get many Sox fans to say that 2022 Verdugo was a great baserunner or fielder. LOL.
  12. Only 3 first place finishes in 20 managerial years. .391 postseason record. He has LOST every playoff series he's been in.
  13. Sox originally had an agreement to trade Beni for Lee/Cordero straight up, but were able to expand the trade because they knew Mets had lots of interest in the deal. I look at it as two separate deals.
  14. Winckowski was one of the prospects traded by the Mets for Khalil Lee from what I remember.
  15. Yeah, not this year. I'd worry that jerking him around more this season would lead to injury. Back to piggy backing for Houck!
  16. And to think I thought he was pro vaccination!
  17. He's a good player, he's just not 2018 Benintendi, which is what Sox fans remember.
  18. Hmmm, sounds like a bad idea to me. We need to let them know!
  19. If I'm the Sox, I move Houck back into the rotation. His stuff has not "played up" in the pen.
  20. The Betts trade sucked, but only because we lost a franchise player that the Sox weren't going to pay. Not Bloom's fault. The Beni trade was whatever. It was basically Beni for Cordero and Khalil Lee and then we spun Lee for prospects, from what I remember. The JBJ trade was horrible and still doesn't make much sense. I believe they'd be under the cap if they kept Renfroe's ARB amount and skipped out on signing Hill.
  21. I'd take the control of Dugo or Duran, but the actual play itself goes to Beni. I hope you are joking about Refsnyder as even Cora doesn't play him everyday.
  22. I'd rather have Beni that any Sox OFer right now. I'm just saying he's overvalued. He's not what we thought he'd become. He's a fine OFer who has run into a little bit of luck this year to boost his average. If he was able to tap into power, he'd be a perennial all star. He's just not at that level.
  23. Is the plan to sign 3-4 pitchers that are going to spend half the year on the IL again?
  24. Look at the FA market this season. Are there 5-7 slots you can even fill with it? Has Bloom shown that he'd be willing to fill the team that way? More likely it's a combination of trade for younger guys, farm development and FA signings.
  25. Soto has zero lineup protection. Devers is still hitting 2nd in front of JD/Bogey.
