    They are meant to get people talking. One way to do that is to rile everyone up. Having a reasonable discussion about the differences between bWAR and fWAR would cause ratings to tank and a few drivers to fall asleep at the wheel. It's meant to be half way antagonistic. It's meant to be in jest. It's meant to get some fans worked into a lather. It's worked for their ratings because they've done quite well. If you every listened to Mazz on the regular show vs Mazz on his solo baseball show, it was like two different guys. It is just a gimmick.

    I think the determination would be to keep one of Verdugo and Duran and to deal the other. Duran can't play CF and Verdugo seems stuck in LF. They are both LHB that play LF. Can they get more for Verdugo at the deadline? IDK.

    His vision may sync up, but what he can actually pull off at the deadline could be different.

    I'm fine with that approach. I think constantly going after 30 year old FA's isn't the best thing for your roster.

    The Angels problem isn't Trout or Ohtani. They signed some truly horrible contracts in the past, but their current issues are due to how extremely horrible their farm system is. The owner just doesn't value the farm system and has put in no money to scouting and developing players.

    You're the one complaining about the posters here. I don't spend my time complaining about everyone else on here. I don't go on nebulous rants about Swihart or moon or anyone. Like who cares? If I comment on something it'll be directly to a specific quote. I don't lump people in as some pro or anti Bloom group, because I think those arguments are dumb. "Why can't you accept different opinions?" But you clearly couldn't accept moon's opinion on sports radio. You had to get on a soapbox and say how actually moon is the bad one and that no in fact it's TalkSox posters that are the ones who are wrong. Well if that's true, then why waste your time here? It just doesn't make sense. I have no problem with differing opinions, but what's the point in trying to belittle everyone? "This place sucks. You're all dumb. I'm going to post here everyday though." Uh, ok? That's a weird hobby.

    Soto should 100% test the open market. Sign an extension when you are multiple years away from FA, not when you are on the doorstep.

    Yeah, it was about a month long signing period, but is now just about 2 weeks. At one point, the signing period lasted until just a few weeks prior to the following draft.

    They are just horribly mediocre. Without Devers and a few deadline trades, it could get really ugly.
