  1. It did last year. His k rate went up a little, but his hard hit % skyrocketed. SSS tho.
  2. That's the ONLY thing that makes sense if you look at his statcast. Use him like Andrew Miller. I'm not sure that's what the Sox have suggested though.
  3. Fine with me.
  4. I'm not sure what determinations we've made about moon except that he needs to use larger fonts and is bad at math.
  5. Hill, yes. Strahm, didn't care. Wacha, wasn't a lot of money. Heaney is going to get more than he got last year, 1/8.5. If he was going to get 1/7, it wouldn't be a big deal to me.
  6. He probably won't be. I think we've protected more players on our lists in the previous years than Bloom has.
  7. I thought you were advocating for an Eovaldi QO?
  8. Bloom could sell me on a lot of FA options, but Heaney isn't one of them.
  9. @SPChrisHatfield Today at 6pm is the deadline to add players to the 40-man roster to protect them from selection in the Rule 5 Draft. See below for my thoughts. I think they'll protect the top 4, question is whether they add any of the next 4. My guess is Rafaela, Walter, Ward, Murphy, Gonzalez. This would leave Abreu unprotected.
  10. Andrew Heaney: Exit Velo: bottom 2% in 2022 Hard Hit %: bottom 1% in 2022 He gets a lot of k's, but gets hit hard and gets injured. Not a recipe for success in my book.
  11. The world is testing my patience this week, that's why...
  12. Even just to get a bullpen regular or utility player would be an absolute win. You don't have to come away with Whitlock.
  13. https://www.mlb.com/news/2022-all-arizona-fall-league-team?t=arizona-fall-league-coverage Stephen Scott made the All AFL Team. C: Stephen Scott, Scottsdale (unranked among BOS Top 30) The 2019 10th-rounder out of Vanderbilt made the full-time move back to catcher this season, so you might have expected there to be a heavier emphasis on his defense with the Scorpions. Instead, he showed he can swing it a bit too with a .298/.394/.614 line over 15 games. Five of his seven extra-base hits left the yard, putting him in a five-way tie for third on the AFL HR leaderboard. That’s a solid showing for a player who went deep 10 times in 96 games at High-A and Double-A during the regular season.
  14. The Red Sox are exploring the pitching market early, putting out feelers on both starters and relievers. Two starters they are poking around on early, according to sources, are right-hander Seth Lugo and lefty Andrew Heaney. C'mon, man!
  15. I think that says more about the state of the system than anything else. I see more value in him on the 40 man than Reed or Ort.
  16. How I'm feeling about buying mlb.tv for 2023.
  17. I think you scared him off the site.
  18. I don't see them protecting Abreu. He was ok in Portland but absolutely pathetic in the AFL. Abreu, meanwhile, batted just .167/.275/.204 with two doubles and 10 RBIs in 17 games. If they think he has a shot of playing in BOS this year, maybe they find a spot? They did make room for Rossario and Potts for way too long.
  19. $$$ Sox have $90M+ to spend.
  20. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=senga-000kod Haven't seen much discussion about Koudai Senga on here. Is it because the Sox were out early on Suzuki last year?
  21. The worst....
  22. He's an interesting guy. My guess is that there are guys left unprotected on other teams that are better than Wallace.
