  1. @mlbtraderumors Yankees Expected To Meet With Brandon Nimmo So why wouldn't the Mets meet with Judge?
  2. Most likely of that group? Xander
  3. I think the cost for Jansen will be really high. Mets will outbid everyone on Nimmo. Conforto on a pillow deal? Why did no team try to bring him in last season? Contreras is ok, but the catching ability leaves a lot to be desired for that price tag so he's not a guy I'm into.
  4. 8:30 PM. C'mon...
  5. Heaney has been drawing widespread interest in free agency with as many as ten teams showing interest, including the incumbent Dodgers (via Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic), aforementioned Blue Jays, as well as the Mets, Red Sox and others. For some reason, the Sox just keep coming up in the Heaney news items. Jays have already made a formal offer.
  6. Red Sox looking to add Kahnle who is surely to stay healthy this season. His Statcast looks great if you just multiply his innings by 5.
  7. Heaney apparently has 3 year offers on the table and wants a 4th year. Bloom, please no...
  8. Further clarification: San Diego Union Tribune Kevin Acee on the Padres SS interest: "A team source said Monday evening that the Padres are no longer in the market for a shortstop and were always only really in the market for Turner"
  9. Estevez had very good away splits last year, but slightly less pronounced before then. I think people are hoping for a post COL breakout. That doesn't always workout.
  10. What are Senga's leadership qualities?
  11. He should change it to: "I really believe that you win with star players, but you build a bullpen around them."
  12. The only way they bring Xander back is if it's 28 to Xander, a SP for 15 or less and the rest are el cheapos.
  13. "As well as innings" precludes Heaney IMO.
  14. That's how the FA market works. We knew that the market was limited and the Sox had a lot of holes to fill. If they are going to stick with value plays (like waiting out the Story market), they will mostly be outbid during the offseason. DD isn't running the show anymore. It's not surprising. Should they have spent 22% of their offseason budget on a 1b/DH? That wouldn't make sense to me. By what metric is Estevez ranked better than Martin? He has half the career fWAR in MORE innings. Nearly 3x the bb rate. Higher ERA and xFIP. Worse GB%. Worse LOB%
  15. That's also probably why Turner chose the Phillies. He just wants to play SS.
  16. And not the moves the FO is looking at doing apparently. We're much more fun.
  17. JD can be replaced, but we don't know what the replacement for Xander will be. Hopefully it's a guy with an Aruban passport.
  18. He's kept them competitive and ownership hasn't allowed them to push it up to the next level.
  19. And Beni's on-field value was greater than what he was paid. The return so far hasn't provided much. Maybe Winckowski can leverage his arm into a better relief role?
  20. Casas is the best 1b since Moreland. That's not saying much, but Casas should be ok over there. He's definitely an upgrade over Dalbec.
  21. Why is it not a good sign that they were far apart on Abreu? They had a number and Abreu signed with the Astros for much more. I'm glad the Sox didn't extend themselves and overpay. Abreu at 3x45 is a much better deal than 3x60.
  22. Bassitt Kluber Greinke Quintana
  23. If we pay more, they'll be able to keep Devers!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. No, that's for the plants and my coffee. I bathe in the swale.
