  1. Eovaldi at 10M? I'm ok with it.
  2. Per DRS: 2B 29 3B 2 SS 8 Per UZR/150 2B 10.9 3B -1.1 SS 5.3 Seems like his best defensive position would be 2B followed by SS.
  3. Wendle is a healthier replacement for Arroyo IMO. Career GS: 251 2B 225 3B 89 3B 18 OF
  4. Devers, Wong Bart, Yastrzemski, Schmitt, Matos
  5. Per BTV: McDonough or Hamilton or Taylor for Wendle If they wanted something better like Seabold? Ok.
  6. @tylermilliken_ Joey Wendle has been a name coming up in trade talks for the Red Sox, per @chadjennings22. He’s coming off a down season, after slashing .259/.297/.360/.658 with an 86 OPS+ in 101 games. He’s part of a “revolving and evolving list of SS possibilities.”
  7. Who's to say he isn't Swihart's Ghost?
  8. Don't unload Price and then you eat that contract and you can't afford the dead weight of the Sale contract. Sale walks. Oh no! Maybe it also prevents you from trading for JBJ's dumb contract!
  9. That's fine. Mookie is the better long term option IMO. They can't sign all of them, but they should sign the best of them.
  10. They do need to field a AAA ballclub this year.
  11. They also have him listed on the projected WOO roster.
  12. Sports Radio takes? That's what we believe the average fan thinks now, moon? You fight Old Red about that incessantly... C'mon, man...
  13. @SPChrisHatfield For those wondering, there is usually a MLFA NRI announcement right about now, whereas guys getting NRIs who are in the system get announced later. I expect guys like Shugart, Altavilla, Koss, Fitzgerald, Santos will be on that list.
  14. If Tampa can afford $75M, EVERY team can afford $75M.
  15. @RedSox The #RedSox have added six non-roster invitees to the team’s 2023 Spring Training roster: pitchers Norwith Gudino and Oddanier Mosqueda, catchers Caleb Hamilton and Ronaldo Hernández, outfielder Narciso Crook, and infielder/outfielder Niko Goodrum. Gudino - RP from SFG Mosqueda - RP was in POR last year Hamilton - defensive C with pronounced platoon split Hernandez - currently playing well in Colombian winter league, but is no longer on 40 man Crook - OF from CHC, high k numbers, but is a good clubhouse guy Goodrum - SS that we all know and love
  16. In terms of MLB draft, he's done a very good job so far. Internationally, Bleis was a good get.
  17. And that's why we rolled into 2021 with Vaz and Bogey and JD and Eovaldi and left with (so far) a last place finish, a 4th round comp pick, Abreu and Valdez. You have to cash in the assets when you have them. Letting them leave for nothing makes zero sense. It's a move that you'd rip Bloom for later on.
  18. John Henry could ban Kimmi on TalkSox and we'd still keep posting anyway.
  19. George Will on line 2. The Fun Police. Fans don't give a s***.
  20. I'm a fan of a team that isn't giving out big contracts and I think it's good for the game. The only people I see complaining about Steve Cohen are old has-beens like David Axelrod. No real person listens to what someone like that has to say.
  21. If they get into the playoffs, his job is 100% safe. If they compete for a playoff spot until the last week, he probably still has a job in 2024 but it's not 100%.
  22. That's the worst option. If they go into the season with Raffy at 3b and no new deal, the fans will have "re-sign Raffy" signs at every game.
  23. Downs was kind of a shocker looking back on it. He was the 86th ranked prospect at the time of the trade. His bat was projected to play and the thought was he'd at least be moved off SS to 2B as his glove wasn't ideal. He put a lot of work in at SS and became good enough to be an MLB regular there. HOWEVER, his bat just cratered after coming back from the missed 2020 season and he never put it back together. He was always able to strike the ball very hard, but he lost all his confidence and was just never able to make consistent contact in the zone. The exact opposite happened to Downs that most scouts projected. His bat died on the vine.
  24. The farm is better. The "depth" is better. If they don't have a winning season in 2023, he's gone.
  25. Who is complaining about the Mets exactly? Yes, you should care if there are 3 or 4 teams vying to be the biggest team in baseball. That'd be amazing for this stale game.
