  1. @redsoxstats Last night at the same time, two mlb insiders published stories and one said Story is next line to play SS, the other said Correa, Swanson, or Turner would be. It’s like this every winter and is going to be like this even more so this winter. These are mostly agents putting out press releases. Anyone mad the Sox are doing due diligence on everything, turning over every rock, or thinking “interest kings” is some kind of slanderous term, need to shake the rocks out of their head.
  2. Mark Feinsand, MLB Reporter and author of "The Franchise: New York Yankees": “According to sources, the Red Sox have started reaching out to some teams regarding the availability of their second basemen, hoping to figure out Plan B in the likely event that Bogaerts leaves Boston.”
  3. “They seem happy with their rotation of Chris Sale, Nick Pivetta, Brayan Bello, Garrett Whitlock and Tanner Houck.” (Via @JimBowdenGM) Boo this man. Booo!!!
  4. I was just using the estimates based on your list only and ignoring all other FA's. Honestly, I think the Judge and Turner amounts are low which is why I put them in my list. Otherwise, I don't see the Sox grabbing them.
  5. Well, there is really no such thing as low risk high reward.
  6. Since 2016, Gray has had 1 season above 3 fWAR. Paxton has had 4 seasons above 3 fWAR. When Paxton is healthy, he's much better than Gray.
  7. Just a bit outside... the margin of error.
  8. Turner 30.7 Judge 36.8 Bassitt 16 Kluber 11.5 You didn't list any other relievers, so I'll assume Rogers is the only guy available this offseason and I'll pass. Whitlock can be closer again.
  9. Tommy Pham's option has been declined by the Sox
  10. They had been getting a lot of flack Liverpool fans latey.
  11. He obviously couldn't announce that prior to the WS ending. Would be glorious if he did that.
  12. The knock on Walter has been his age all along. It's why he wasn't regarded very highly early on even though his numbers were really good. Drafted at 22 in 26th round. 2020 season cancelled, year 23. A/A+ as a 1st year pro at 24. He would have debuted in MLB last season, but got injured.
  13. Powerball is $2, sir.
  14. Murphy's previous career high in innings was 100. He threw 150 this year. That's a pretty big jump. AAA ERA/WHIP July 4.64/1.41 Aug 5.66/1.60 (when he went over 100+ innings) Sept 6.26/1.76
  15. In July 2022 the rankings were: Walter 5 Winckowski 9 Murphy 10 Seabold 11 Walter is considered a better prospect, but I think he's well behind Bello or Mata. Murphy is probably just a bullpen arm? People are just excited that the Sox have anything to provide the MLB squad even if it's just a bunch of up and down guys that are lottery tickets.
  16. Because that's the argument we are having.
  17. Mets stated they were prioritizing Diaz and Nimmo. Wonder if they are going to overpay Nimmo as well?
  18. ^ This amount also includes keeping Paxton. If they dump Paxton, they'd have 100M+ to spend which is the amount that moon would be comfortable with having to spend.
  19. Yes, I'd spend a premium to get Turner here. I wouldn't pay JD 3/34.
  20. Minor Overpay Alert! Adolis Garcia For Walter Duran Lugo Murphy
  21. Casas is the 1b. DH is not settled.
  22. Manny and Pedroia are both on for a few more years totaling about 4.5M per annum.
  23. Where are you getting that amount from? They had about $115M leave via trade/FA/projected opt outs since last summer. I've seen their current payroll and benefits at 165M with Xander. Take Xander out and that's 145M. Lux tax of 233 would mean there's 90M to spend.
