  1. I'm not really a fan of some of the moves that Bloom has made, but I'd be more scared for the Sox if some of the posters on here were the GM.
  2. I think Fulmer would be a good addition. I'd let Conforto try to earn a big payday. Maybe the Sox can get lightning in a bottle and deal him at the deadline if they are out of it.
  3. And I don't think PIT would do Casas for Reynolds. I think Reynolds is just overvalued right now. Maybe they are more likely to do an in-season trade if he starts hitting like 2021 again? My point was just that trading a 3fWAR guy who makes a decent salary already for players that can provide equal or greater value most likely isn't a wise decision. Unless he can be that 6fWAR guy for 3 years, you don't do the deal. If we're supposedly cheering on Bloom for building a farm, I don't want him tearing it down on bad trades before he's fired in 10 months.
  4. How are you already projecting Romero to be better than Casas? Coming out of HS, Casas was already a highly rated prospect.
  5. He has plus range? Careeer RngR: -6.6
  6. I think 27x6 is a fair deal, Sox should stretch to 27x7 to match, but 27x8 they should pass on. I'm trying not to get too worked up until a final number comes out.
  7. Some of these deals are more reasonable to me. I don't think Conforto is "the bridge to Rafaela" that would be Kiké. I could see them giving Conforto a multi-year deal. Fulmer at 5M seems like a steal considering some of the relief contracts being handed out so far.
  8. We assume he was told, we really have no idea. Hard to parse out who in particular was at fault. At some point, it's JH, Bloom, BOH, Sam, everyone...
  9. To me, I'll give him the rest of the offseason to figure it out. If the Sox struggle this year, he needs to go no matter what. Even if the Sox farm system is #1 (it isn't), the MLB team needs to be relatively competitive.
  10. They will most likely just offer a QO next offseason and get a comp pick after trying to be competitive this season.
  11. If Bryan Reynolds has an AAV of $8M over the next 3 years (ARB projection for 24 and 25?) and is a 3 fWAR guy and Triston is paid the MLB minimum, if Triston averages anything better than 2 fWAR, it's an overpay by the Sox. If you're trading Reynolds, you better hope he's the 6 fWAR guy, not the 3 fWAR guy based on the price point.
  12. To me, the only "untouchable" guys would be Bleis, Mayer, Casas and Bello. I would deal Rafaela and Romero in the right trade. The untouchable guys would have to bring back the controllable ace.
  13. The problem with Swanson is that he's a SS only profile. His arm is so bad that you can't really transition him to 3b or an OF position. Story is already at 2b, so nobody is going there. I wouldn't sign Swanson. To me, it's Correa, Turner, Bogey or bust. The bust would be sign Andrus to a short term contract and wait for a younger guy to take over the position.
  14. Story can't even play SS anymore.
  15. Who was giddy?
  16. They wanted him and got him to sign before the meetings. He has the potential to be the best pitcher in the game for the next 3 years at least.
  17. Hell no on that first trade.
  18. Reynolds was a 3 fWAR guy after the changes to the ball last year. I’m not sure he’s worth what the asking price is, honestly.
  19. I wouldn’t unless a young controllable ace is coming back.
  20. Sox haven’t shown that the will extend anyone lately.
  21. I don’t like giving up the prospects I’d have to give up for him.
  22. Because he was injured. If he stays healthy, he’ll be good.
  23. And I pass on Reynolds.
  24. Why not 2 years and ignore the fake short season?
  25. No it didn’t. Sox were worse than the M’s in 2020. It made the Sox look worse.
