  1. It's the dirt worst. Better say nothing at all.
  2. If Paxton is ready, is he in the pen or the rotation?
  3. Beltran's known issues are being associated with the Astros cheating scandal.
  4. Known cheater Gaylord Perry is in the HOF and nobody bats an eye. Everyone who played from 1987 - 2004 and beyond is a good suspect for using some sort of PED's. Impossible to parse them all out so why bother.
  5. I still remain positive on Barnes this season. I think he'll be a valuable arm somewhere. He won't be a late inning guy.
  6. It seems to me that they don't have a trade partner yet. They just feel that Brasier has the better upside.
  7. With Mondesi, they are just looking to find a stop gap for the year. I think they need Story to just get healthy again and play out the remainder of the contract AT 2B.
  8. Motter did have a 1262 OPS with the Sox.
  9. Hall of Fame results are announced tonight. The only guys above 75% so far on public ballots are Rolen and Helton. We'll see if they can sneak in or if the remaining ballots get them under 75% again. Wagner has 71.6% and all others are below 70. My ballot would have been: Abreu Beltran Buerhle Helton Jones Manny ARod Rolen Sheffield Wagner Red Sox legends Mike Napoli, Jacoby Ellsbury, John Lackey and Bronson Arroyo have received zero votes so far. RA Dickey and Huston Street each received 1 vote so far.
  10. "Cough Syrup" guy.
  11. If there's a light down the end of the train tracks, it's probably a train, not mojo with a headlamp.
  12. Mondesi career wRC+: 79 Andrus career wRC+: 86 Mondesi zips projection: 320 PAs, .240/.277/.383, 79 OPS+, 1.5 WAR Andrus zips projection: 529 PAs, .238/.290/.363, 80 OPS+, 0.9 WAR
  13. Health, he's a post-TJS guy. You can manage his innings better in the pen. His stuff can play up out there. His last fully healthy season was 2017.
  14. The odds of him getting 650 PA's would probably be 1000 to 1. Higher? Over/Under 250 PA/s?
  15. Only 28 players got there last year, but his chances are infinitely better than yours.
  16. Nobody really knows. In the end, if he's a 3 fWAR guy, he'll be worth the contract.
  17. Also just need to save room for callups (Tapia, Alfaro, etc.).
  18. It's the best fit for him IMO.
  19. Taylor is better than Garrett when healthy.
  20. Bloom has built this team around a lot of older or recently injured players. Which ones do you think are likely to miss multiple weeks due to injury? Select all that apply! This is a poll, please give me a few minutes to put the options up.
  21. If he's the guy, you don't let the market develop.
  22. Mondesi has played both 2B and SS. I think he has a good bit of upside, which Bloom loves. I would have rather that they found a starting SS to plug in just for the year, but I don't think that guy exists. Maybe Story will be back at some point?
  23. Will he end up with numbers like 2018-19? No. Will he k a lot and take very few bb's? Yes. Does he still have his speed post ACL surgery (68 SB per 162G from '18-'21)? Who knows! My gut tells me that he's not the everyday SS though.
  24. If he can play the 50% of the games that Arroyo will miss! Would this be a win if they had dealt Brasier instead of the oft injured Taylor?
