  1. Alfaro depends on Wong's health. I thought they might 60 day IL Abreu, but that would start his MLB service time making it less likely.
  2. I'd put Chang on the roster ahead of Dalbec and Tapia until Mondesi is ready.
  3. Right now, Tapia is functioning primarily as a DH. He's basically a LF only, which will be Yoshida's spot. As long as Turner is ready to go, Tapia will be in AAA.
  4. Yu Chang should be the emergency fill in.
  5. @jcmccaffrey Red Sox vs Rays: Arroyo 2B, Casas 1B, Duvall CF, Tapia DH, Refsnyder RF, Dalbec SS, McGuire C, Allen LF, Goodrum 3B, Kluber P Whitlock is also scheduled to pitched in a game for the first time today. He’s set to go two innings after Kluber. Bello is throwing two innings on the back fields today
  6. Because they can't.
  7. He should be working out in the OF though? Why would people panic? He's a bad 1b. He's an ok 3b, but not a full-timer. In order for him to stick in the majors, he needs more utility. I just don't think a good use for him is at SS, a much more demanding defensive position than 3b or 1b.
  8. Yes, but he was moved to simply clear space on the 40 man. It wasn't a deal where Bloom was going to bring back much value.
  9. Back of the rotation/middle reliever guy? Not something I'm losing sleep over. His overall ceiling is gone from what it once was.
  10. AlDFAberto Mondesi
  11. Do you think Aaron Judge is successfully beyond the injury prone label? You expect 4-5 reasonably healthy years unless there's some really fluky injury? I'm not a Gerrit Cole fan, but at least that guy is a horse. Yankees may be the only team in the East with a true anchor in the rotation (Manoah is young and his xFIP shows room for regression, McClanahan hasn't pitched a full season).
  12. I mean, they've put him into regular season games before. I think they should just stop doing it. That's all I'm saying.
  13. They f***ed around with Arroyo last ST and he looked horrible in RF for too long. Seems like they are repeating a similar mistake to me. This team has a tendency to do some really weird s*** that doesn't always work out. Maybe it's nothing, but I'd just keep Dalbec at 1B/3B/LF/bench bat. I know Bloom thinks it's "going to be awesome" but I'm dubious. If ST doesn't really matter and players can goof off like this, just cancel it altogether.
  14. He shouldn't. It makes no sense.
  15. Needs to be changed to "can the team arrive to Opening Day with a functioning 26 man roster?"
  16. The WBC really makes for an awkward ST season, but I'm on board too.
  17. Dalbec had a good arm in college, but I think it was his personal choice to no longer want to pitch.
  18. Who said it was about winning? I don't think Dalbec should be put at SS period.
  19. @markjburns88 Major League Pickleball founder Steve Kuhn says pickleball "will be easily a top 5 sport in the next five years in terms of viewership." "We will challenge MLS, Major League Baseball and the NHL. I think we'll be in that category soon."
  20. They have Christian Koss playing 3b and Dalbec playing SS. Just flip flop them.
  21. He's a bad 1b. He's a bad 3b. Somehow he'll be ok at 2b or SS?
  22. It just seems like he'd be a better fit in a corner OF role?
  23. He has a -16.1 UZR/150 at 3b. Why would he be an ok SS?
  24. Ort is going to be on the Opening Day roster.
  25. @jcmccaffrey Red Sox at Tigers: Tapia DH, Casas 1B, Duvall CF, Arroyo 2B, Refsnyder RF, Dalbec SS, R. Hernández C, Allen LF, Koss 3B, Pivetta P Why do they keep doing this though?
