  1. Who said that? Talent evaluators or posters?
  2. "Mild annoyance."
  3. I don't know what you're insinuating.
  4. I don't have time to teach you today padawan. I don't believe you'd listen to me anyway.
  5. I'd start with Boris "Pink." While it was their 10th release, it was more "melodic" (for them) and more "accessible" (for them). It rules. Doesn't demand much on your ears.
  6. Wrong. You and Bell were both wrong. A lot of posters were saying at the time that they needed to sell because the team wouldn't make the playoffs. Plugging your ears and saying "well, I guess in hindsight it was horrible" is just silly. You were wrong at the time. Just admit it.
  7. At this point, we can't allow him on a stationary bike. Even posting "boat sail" emoji's on Sale Day may cause him injury.
  8. You tell me. He was playing for the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. I'm sure you have each game scored at home. I'll wait...
  9. Enmanuel Valdez punches former short stop Manny Machado.
  10. The Texas League is full of Home Run Friendly Ballparks, but none more so than Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco where Valdez hit 3 and had 22 total bases in one series which brought his SLG up 50 points. Living in TX, I would have assumed you'd know how hitter friendly that environment is.
  11. The Red Sox are actively worse off than they should be. It's not a point I'm going to debate. They made some serious mistakes starting with the Mookie debacle.
  12. Last year's Valdez #'s are also impacted by the small sample size of a lower level home run friendly Corpus Christi Whataburger Field: AA 40 games, 1.112 OPS.
  13. Yes, Iggy is no longer the great fielding SS that we remember him to be.
  14. Valdez didn't play ANY SS for Worcester. NONE. Unless you saw him play SS in 2021 down in TX, you haven't seen Valdez play SS.
  15. Yes, it's just due to where the picks are slotted. It's not additional money aside from that.
  16. And at one point, Mookie, Raffy and Xander were just prospects with hype. It's up to the Sox scouting and development team to find the right guys and make sure the system is on the right track. In a vacuum, Xander leaving isn't a big deal. Mookie should have been extended PRIOR to the Sale and Eovaldi contracts. Raffy should have already been extended by now. At this point, the only thing the Sox can do it re-sign Devers and show fans that they will go large and long for the right guy. Will fans still have a grudge about how they handled Mookie? Yes and they have a right to feel that way. I sure feel a lot of resentment about it.
  17. The Sox drafts have mostly sucked since Theo left in 2011. Bloom seems to have righted that ship at least.
  18. So he'll trade Raffy in season which will only make fans more upset because that's when it's the only game in town and their are more eyes on the product?
  19. He only has two professional games at short and 7 total fielding chances. I'm not going to say that I don't believe you, but I don't believe you.
  20. Valdez had a 734 OPS with WOO. Might want to not strap a rocket on him just yet. If you are going to add a bench MIF, they better have a good glove.
  21. I just want to know how atrocious his defense actually is if they are moving him from 2B/3B straight to LF/1B. His bat better be really good. His trade-mate Abreu may wind up being the better prospect received.
  22. Segura is 2B or 3B going forward. He hasn't played much SS the past few years.
  23. I don't think they are better off yet. Casas, Bleis and Mayer could be in the conversation with Betts, Devers and Xander someday. Rafaela? He's probably closer to that JBJ tier. Romero and Anthony could be on that Beni tier.
  24. I didn't say they won't, I said they can't, which means they shouldn't. If they go into the season that way, it would be a big mistake.
  25. @IanCundall If the Red Sox had got under the luxury tax at the deadline, they would have received picks 70 & 71 in the 2023 Draft for Bogaerts & Eovaldi. Instead they will receive picks 133 & 134. They also miss out on ~$1 million in additional bonus pool money going off 2022 slot values. The total draft pool money goes down about 1M based on the change in comp picks from 70/71 to 133/134.
