    What's the rush? WOO is right down the street so they can make any moves they need to up until Thursday AM. Maybe they want to see if any teams try to sneak some good arms through the waiver wire or maybe they are still working the phones on a deal or two? Even if Duran and Ort are on the Opening Day roster, it doesn't mean they will be there all season. The roster is in flux. Mondesi should be coming back (potential 60 day IL). Whitlock, Bello and Paxton(?) should be coming back.

    Rusney was never given the chance. At the very least, you need to mark him as an incomplete. Pedroia fWAR prior to signing the extension: 7.9 4.3 4.4 Pedroia fWAR after signing the extension: 3.8 2.3 3.6 Bad deal even prior to the Machado injury. He missed almost 100 games between 14 and 15. Lowest wRC+ season prior to the extension: 112 2014-2019 wRC+ after the extension: 108

    @SoxNotes Of my nine seasons with the Red Sox, this is the best group from top to bottom that I’ve been around. Call it vibes, chemistry, leadership, professionalism, whatever—it’s just a great group of people and players. Can’t wait for the fans to get to know this team better.

    Pedroia. Rusney's contract is on the bottom of that list as it didn't affect the luxury tax. He may have provided value to the Sox, but wasn't given a chance. Hard to hold it against him.

    @alexspeier Sounds as if the Red Sox won’t be deciding on the final roster spots (LHH reserve OF and reliever) until sometime after today’s game. As of now, Kaleb Ort and Jarren Duran are expected to fly with the team to Boston, but uncertain if they will open the year in the big leagues or with the WooSox (who open at home on Friday).

    @PeteAbe #RedSox wrap it up against the #Braves: Verdugo RF, Devers 3B, Turner DH, Yoshida LF, Duvall CF, Casas 1B, Arroyo 2B, McGuire C, K. Hernández SS, and Crawford RHP Seems like Verdugo is getting most of the leadoff starts these days.

    He has a splitter that he throws less than 10% of the time, but against LHB (xSLG 207). It's supposed to help with his FB/SL combo, which is mainly effective against RHB. His 4 seamer just isn't a great pitch as it's too straight.

    His slider has lots of movement. Just need to see if the numbers settle down during the regular season when it counts.
