    Posters bagged on Vazquez as being a bad CERA guy. Plawecki was supposedly the good one, but he was horrendous last year. Varitek speaks very highly of McGuire, so I think we need to at least give him a full season before we dump on him too much.

    I had wondered if it was heading there the other day. He hasn’t participated in a game. There are no reports of him working out. The updated rumor comes tonight from the Globe’s Julian McWilliams “per sources.” He doesn’t mention any updates about Ort. Earlier DFA rumor was inaccurate it seems.

    @gfstarr1 A little Red Sox prospects news: Ceddanne Rafaela will begin the 2023 MiLB season in Double-A Portland. @SPChrisHatfield Almost speculated this earlier (and if our website editing access weren't down, we'd have updated this projection last night), as he didn't head north with the Worcester guys this weekend. Camp showed he still has plenty to work on. Meanwhile, crowded group in Worcester.

    @jcmccaffrey The Red Sox got right-hander AJ Politi back from the Orioles today. Politi had been taken in the Rule 5 draft in December but didn’t make Baltimore’s active roster.
