  1. There's been a bit of a snag as the NV state legislature failed to approve the stadium package and now has adjourned for the next 20 months. The Governor could call a special session, but one leader said it won't happen. It will probably still happen eventually, but it's not as locked up as we think it may be. Fisher needs to grease some palms.
  2. I don't think the bats would be cost prohibitive (or that inspiring), but I don't see them getting 2 SP's out of that group. I'd be happy if they just added YY.
  3. That 226 SLG must be just shy of MLB average too.
  4. He's getting hit harder this year than in previous years and all 7 of his HR's are from LHB. He gets a decent amount of whiffs, but just can't seem to put guys away. It's frustrating because he's one average pitch away from being a 3rd starter.
  5. Dalbec had his struggles defensively and offensively. Simply hitting more HR's at AAA shouldn't get him promoted.
  6. Montreal wasn't great for the Expos. They shouldn't get a second chance for a while.
  7. A new stadium.
  8. Cable isn't getting cheaper. Ads aren't getting cheaper. Tickets aren't getting cheaper.
  9. That's crazy because it's the teams that are requesting the pitchers to hurt their elbows.
  10. A bridge to the next bridge.
  11. He's 27. He's spent a few years working on a third pitch. He just isn't really able to turn a lineup over. Can you throw him out there as a 5th starter for a while and see if he figures it out sometime? Sure. I don't feel like his stuff really popped when he was pitching out of the pen.
  12. Well, if you aren't spending top of the draft capital or over slot capital on pitching, all your getting are value plays. Are those expected to work out into a a complete starting rotation? That doesn't seem like a safe bet to me.
  13. It's what happens when you utilize a player correctly.
  14. https://www.milb.com/player/jack-leiter-683004 Technically they can, but nobody is a sure bet even college pitchers.
  15. deGrom and Rodon staying healthy weren't safe bets.
  16. And people switching to other means of watching the Sox. And people just not caring about baseball as much anymore. And a whole host of reasons.
  17. Even if it changes, that's a 3-4 year waiting time at best...
  18. @WooSox Walter on the bump! What are we guessing? 3.2 INN, 5 ER?
  19. Throw every ball into the concession stand.
  20. Let's get crazy with it.
  21. The mistake they made was thinking they could make up the rotation on the fly year in and year out. Everything else has been whatever. To me, it's always been the rotation. Mookie, Xander, JD, Vaz, JBJ, Beni, et al left, but the Sox are still scoring runs. The problem is that the starting rotation is a steaming pile of horseshit because you need an actual plan in place and can't just pull a good rotation out of your ass.
  22. There are a few exceptions and it really depends on the type of "stuff" the guy has. I never liked Derek Lowe out of the pen. He seemed to be a starter only profile to me.
  23. The ratings were even dropping as they were winning division titles with DD. The glory days of the early 2000's will never come back.
