  1. Is it matchup based?
  2. Brasier as the setup guy. Let's see how this goes................................
  3. Good thing he still hasn't played 24 games yet so these results don't matter.
  4. And for some reason, people love Phillip Sikes now. https://www.soxprospects.com/players/sikes-phillip.htm
  5. @jcmccaffrey Schreiber, who grew up about 15 miles from Detroit and was drafted by the Tigers debuting with them in 2019, has more than 30 family and friends at this game But will they boo him?
  6. Kiké was supposed to be good at SS.
  7. How are they going to obtain a competitive rotation in the near future then?
  8. Rafaela in AAA. Mayer is starting in Greenville this year. He should be up in AA by midseason 2023 at least.
  9. @SoxProspects Your season-opening lineup for the @salemredsox : LF Roman Anthony (#SP60 #11) CF Miguel Bleis (#3) RF Allan Castro (#33) 3B Cutter Coffey (#23) SS Luis Ravelo (#34) DH Juan Chacon 1B Lyonell James (#58) C Ronald Rosario 2B Ahbram Liendo (#60) SP Luis Perales (#8)
  10. I'd like to see his plan for constructing a rotation then. He's not drafting many pitchers. The IFA guys are very far away.
  11. @SoxNotes Rafael Devers has passed Dustin Pedroia on the Red Sox’ all-time HR list: 12. Nomar Garciaparra 178 13. Jackie Jensen 170 T14. Tony Conigliaro 162 T14. Carlton Fisk 162 16. Xander Bogaerts 156 17. George Scott 154 18. Reggie Smith 149 19. RAFAEL DEVERS 141 20. Dustin Pedroia 140
  12. Kiké tried to add to the lead.
  13. 6 of their starters have batting averages at 208 or below. As of now, the best team in baseball seems to be the Rays.
  14. Followed by 3 straight k's. This Tigers team is not good. If the batters didn't swing at anything, it'd be 1-0 and the bases would be loaded.
  15. 8 straight balls. Chris Sale throw a strike challenge.
  16. Walks the first batter on 4 pitches. Great.
  17. With the more I see of his moves, the more I wonder how much of a say he really had in Tampa? OR how much is someone else really calling the shots here?
  18. @PeteAbe Tigers lineup has eight RH hitters vs. Chris Sale. Watch to see if he's able to throw his slider to the back foot of those hitters. If Sale has that pitch, he'll succeed. If not ...
  19. Bello threw 5 innings yesterday in an extended ST game. Velo was 94-95. Next stop is WOO on Tuesday most likely. So Whitlock in BOS on Tuesday and Bello in WOO on Tuesday...
  20. Sale Day vs Turnbull Verdugo Devers Turner Yoshida Duvall Casas Arroyo McGuire Hernandez
  21. Interesting that they are keeping this guy, but got rid of BJ Vela, a guy the same age who could actually hit (927 OPS in FCL vs Valdez' 574). Seems weird.
  22. @SPChrisHatfield Of note with the rest of the full-season affiliates starting today, Freddy Valdez, a rookie ball OF acquired from the Mets as part of the Andrew Benintendi deal, is converting to pitching.
  23. Barnes was awful in ST. They were going to work him into the closer rotation, but noped out of it when they saw how bad he looked. His FB is under 94. He's not k'ing anyone. He has a 167 BABIP. Batters have a zone contact % of 100 against him. I'm skeptical that he's going to do well over the long term. If he was playing here and had these numbers, I'd feel the same.
  24. SoxProspects are big on Marvin Alcantara. They are working on updating their scouting reports from ST. Not sure I see Noah Deah jumping into the top 100. He's currently ranked 41st in the system and is projected as a relief arm. Are you thinking of Drohan? Guys that I can see jumping into the top 100: Perales Romero Anthony Hickey I think more Sox fans will know about Paulino after this year, but I'm not sure he's a Top 100 guy type. Maybe Meidroth jumps up in the Sox system too.
  25. There are approximately 15 teams in Wild Card contention in each league, so we'll just have to see!
