  1. You, sir, are absolutely right.
  2. He's getting suspended for a couple years (pending appeal), but no criminal charges will be filed. However, sources claim the umpire verbally abused Offerman, which isn't justification, but still, if umpires demand respect, they must give it, and verbal abuse from players to umpires or vice-versa is heavily sanctioned here.
  3. Papelbon was a top five closer last year, to say he wasn't elite is a lie. He simply didn't pitch up to the sky-high standard he's set for himself.
  4. Not nearly as big as they're making it out to be though.
  5. That's the point. Why would he do it again? Last time he forsake money for security, but this time, he'll hit the FA market in before he's 30, and if he keeps putting up numbers like the last couple of years, he'll not only be able to get a massive contract, but also get out of that horrible stadium and play for a contender.
  6. I think Gonzales hits the FA market. Why take a "hometown discount" when you can both get paid a lot more money, and get the hell out of Petco.
  7. You don't say.
  8. Only gripe i have with it is that i like Posada hitting 5th. He's much more of a certainty than Granderson and has no real platoon weakness.
  9. Morosi tweeted the confirmation. http://twitter.com/jonmorosi/statuses/7763499776
  10. Dipre approves.
  11. Arizona has signed Adam LaRoche to a 1-year deal worth between 5-6 mill. Lol@ 3-year, 30 million expectations. The Marlins have reached a 4-year, 39 million extension with Josh Johnson on the heels of rumors about them pocketing money from revenue streams. The Tigers have signed Jose Valverde to a 2-year, 14 million deal with a 9 million option.
  12. Baseball reference has some of that info, detailing his rank in most statistical departments, but on a year-to-year basis.
  13. The improvement is not marginal. It's substantial. The fact that Penny, Smoltz, Lugo and Varitek are not regulars on this team is a huge upgrade all by itself, everything else is just gravy.
  14. Well for the most part, it was basically interesting conversation given how slow the off-season currently is. She may have gotten a little offended because of the Minnesota thing, but all in all, nothing too big, just interesting debate.
  15. If Bryce Harper falls to #20 (doubtful) the Sox would be all over him like Pujols on a straight fastball.
  16. Cameron may not hit .270, but he'll hit 25 jacks easy. Beltre hit 25 or more three times in Seattle, so why couldn't he hit 30 at Fenway? I don't care how his predictions went last year, but that doesn't seem a stretch at all unless, of course, you're on the receiving end.
  17. Then you know where i'm coming from. The "milkshake" reference was a joke of course, but trying to imply any player has always been "clean" as of right now is a difficult task., and for the record, Lowell's 32 HR season is simply a slight fluke, since his 17 HR/FB% nearly doubles his career averages. It simply happens sometimes.
  18. Number 20 from Atlanta signing Billy Wagner.
  19. You mean these stats? Hmmmm......it would appear you are correct, my old-timey friend.
