  1. Yet Jason "Da Slugahhhh!!!!" Bay has a lower Slg%. Go figure.
  2. Same goes for the lovers of the RBI.
  3. Not the past eight months, but long before either of us were here, but then the following happens: You show them the stat, say, OPS, UZR, or whatever, and in comes the fabled: "Advanced metrics are useless". What do you do then? Not only laziness, but a complete disregard for statistical analysis, so what started as a Drew argument becomes a statistical validity argument. New guard Vs Old guard. Drew is just an example of table-setters for this type of arguments.
  4. On a side note, as i said before, the point is not to correct other people's opinions, but to correct statistically flawed arguments. I remember an argument with a poster who said that "The guy doesn't even produce the .900 OPS that was expected of him" to which another poster responded "That he had a .900 OPS in both 2008 and 2009" the response: "Quietest .900 OPS season i've ever seen", which brought the lulz, but it's about the core of the issue. If you're going to bash the guy, bash him with the truth.
  5. Why are you so awesome?
  6. Hung a 7-spot (6 earned) on Halladay today. This team can hit. Even on the road.
  7. The subject can be discussed without it getting out of hand (like a700 and i have today) if people who are old enough to know better stop jumping in on the subject with insults and then acting like victims. I'm just sayin'. It's a legitimate topic, it brings well-thought out discussion (usually) but it's borderline retarded when things like "Nancy" or "NO GRIT!!!!" pop up into an otherwise excellent argument.
  8. Get back to me when he starts hitting on the road. (If he injures his knees or shoulder, your wisdom is f***ed for the rest of the year.)
  9. Bay LOVES the Yankees. He hammers the s*** out of them.
  10. ^Lol. Yet takes a shot in the end.
  11. Trade Lowell plz. Couple of things: Can't deny Johan's lost some luster from his glory days. Not nearly as big a difference between his FB and changeup. And what a weak effort from Teix, that pitch was right down his wheelhouse.
  12. Best.Logjam.Ever though.
  13. Still a lower SLG% and less HR's than Beltre.
  14. That's Tito's prerrogative. There's no denying that, while a good hitter, he's had much better hitters in front of him in every playoff he's been, and there's also the whole "Lefty-righty" thing that Francona holds so dear to his heart, so that may help explain it.
  15. Oh no, i was just clarifying. I find the Drew subject particulary intriguing for a number of reasons. Not only because i like what he brings to the table, but because it completely eludes me how someone can be loudly criticized for playing the game the right way. No antics, no bitching, no media tantrums, just shut up, put your head down, and play the game! Similar situation with Beltre, he's an all-out guy who has his flaws, but brings a lot to the table, and even though he's in many aspects superior to Lowell, people like Lowell and not him, so he automatically sucks.
  16. Hey, i just like baseball arguments. If i'm not insulting anyone, i don't see what the big deal about having an argument is.
