  1. Adrian Beltre XBH per season 06-08: 2006: 68. 2007: 69 2008: 55 Nope, no power at all. He's currently sitting at 17 XBH, on pace for 55+
  2. Don't apologize the Mets' banjo hitter. Our Banjo hitter is also slumping power-wise.
  3. Banjo hitter Bay- 3 HR's. Banjo hitter Beltre- 3 HR's. And the Red Sox banjo hitter demonstrates he can do something the other banjo hitter can't------Play Defense.
  4. The cowbell ringers were extremely happy after the end of the away half of the inning.
  5. Alex Gonzales would have gotten that.
  6. Ortiz helps my real team and fantasy team. I approve.
  7. Wasn't Adrian Beltre supposed to be the worst 3B the Sox had since Hobson? Didn't look like it there.
  8. What the hell Lester? Strikes plz.
  9. I'm surprised he's not top-five given all the hype surrounding the guy in the off-season, spring training, and even early in the season. My guess is that if he plays in either New York team, Boston or Los Angeles, he would have garnered much larger consideration with those numbers.
  10. Placido Polanco, who is 11th in OPS for regular 3B in the NL, leads the balloting at said position by a large margin. Jimmy Rollins, who has been injured and has a grand total of 52 plate appearances, leads the way in the SS position. In the OF, neither Alfonso Soriano's 1.027 OPS, nor Jason Heyward's .989 OPS are deserving of a spot, yet Shane Victorino's .783 OPS does deserve a spot, since, you know, he has a pretty awesome nickname. Werth has been a monster, and is completely deserving though.
  11. While checking Pena's pitch type values in Fangraphs, i noticed that the two pitches he has a positive value in Runs above Average per 100 pitches are fastball and cutter, Lester's two bread-and-butter pitches, so that may explain part of his success against Lester even though Pena, over his career, has always had very pronounced platoon issues wit the exception of 2007.
  12. Turning him loose doesn't mean trotting him out there for another inning 108 pitches. You let him finish his inning if he hit the 110-115 mark during said inning, but "Turning young pitchers loose" like that creates the Mark Priors and Kerry Woods of the world.
  13. This is the real deal! The Mojo is here!
  14. What? Bucholz is still a kid. That's an arm they need to protect. This is a different game of baseball than it used to be.
  15. You keep starting fights then blaming others for it, like in the above instance, which is textbook "baiting". Ruins thread after thread. (Someone please quote me).
