  1. After a game like that, probably not the best idea in the world to ask for his John Hancock. I don't blame him for not signing their autographs. Look how they reacted. If you ask me, they were the douchebags.
  2. I didn't say he was traded for peanuts. But he could have been got. What the Sox gave up for VMart probably would have also worked for Lee.
  3. VMart is a nice acquisition, but he doesn't solve the team's biggest need right now: starting pitching. Theo should definitely take a hit. For what Ricciardi was asking for, getting Halladay may have been unrealistic. However, Cliff Lee could have been got.
  4. My bad, then. I thought you were taking the piss out of me, as they say in Shakespeare's native land.
  5. The DFA is a little harsh for someone of Smoltz's stature, but it had to be done. On top of Traber being terrible, he was also terribly boring to watch. Glad he's gone.
  6. It was a simile, numbnuts.
  7. Rey Sanchez. Bonds is the home run king like Claudius is the king in Hamlet. Only by cheating.
  8. Fair enough. I can buy that.
  9. Possibly. You obviously see more games than I do, but do you think Lowell looks better? There was a play at third where he had to dive that a good third baseman makes nine times out of ten.
  10. King Felix would have been a perfect fit. Ideally, you'd like at least three reliable starters come playoff time. But the '01 Diamondbacks proved you can win it all with two reliable starters and Miguel Batista. Lester and Beckett aren't Schilling and Johnson, but they've shown they can elevate their game during the postseason. Now, all the Sox need is someone to emerge to become their Miguel Batista.
  11. Now, that is actually a bold prediction. I hope you're right.
  12. I like having a swingman at my disposal, and Sean Marshall is one of the better swingmen in the game right now.
  13. Sean Marshall, SP/RP
  14. LOL I can't believe Chad Qualls was still available. Nice pick, Kilo.
  15. Jose Mijares is a promising young lefty specialist. The walks are a concern, but lefties are hitting just .127 against him since last year. Hard not to like that. Edit: Sorry Dipre. You don't know how close I was to not picking him this round. I was very torn between Mijares and someone else who shall remain nameless.
  16. Jose Mijares, RP
  17. Yay, that was the first pick in three days. We're really moving now.
  18. Brandon Moss is another one.
  19. Trade proposed to Suitcase of Courage.
  20. I am a little worried. My pitching has really s*** the bed lately. Had some tough luck against Team Dynasty. His offense isn't normally that good. Also, Blackburn had a quality start going into the 7th and blew it, and Buehrle had a perfect game through 5 and blew it through no fault of his own. The defense really let him down. It's frustrating, but what can you do? Against you, Danks and Meche were both hurt. Had I gone with my instincts and picked up Hochevar and Laffey instead of Morton and Niemann, I would have won. C'est la vie.
  21. Now through 7.
  22. I'm experiencing deja vu. At least this time it went through. Like the move, Kenny. Take notes, Hendry.
