    I saw Joe Girardi at Carson's Ribs back when he was playing for the Cubs. My dad chatted with Tony Oliva and Orlando Cepeda at a Cardinals game years ago. They were surprised someone recognized them.

    Hardy's demotion definitely gives the Sox a window to get him. And he should come at a discount as well. If Hanley isn't attainable, I say go after him.

    I don't know why you don't buy it. It's a fact. It couldn't have been premeditated; he didn't know beforehand he was going to get hit. VMart had already been hit. The beanball war should have been over at that point, but Porcello made a rookie mistake by going overboard. I'm with Dipre on this 100%.

    Not a fan of the massive amount of players dropped from the locked teams. Changes the complexion of this whole thing. Caped Crusaders already had a strong team. Now, he gets Jair Jurrjens and Matt Kemp for free?

    I'm not so sure. The White Sox got Peavy without giving up a lot. I think you're giving the Padres FO too much credit.

    Most Yankee fans probably can only name Mattingly and Guidry from the 80s. That's about it.

    LaRoche plus 2 prospects probably could have landed Gonzo. That would have been a steal for the Sox. Instead... Casey Kotchman?

    That's sound, especially when you consider how young Gonzo and Hanley still are. Holliday is also still in his prime.

    I like Holliday, Lackey, Hanley, and Gonzo. But what I want to know is realistically can even 2 of the 4 be acquired?

    Dojji is reactionary, though. If the Sox go on a run and win like 9 out of the next 10 games, he'll be singing a much different tune.

    Bottom line is Guzman is an upgrade over the current scrubs the Sox are using at SS. Rather than phone it in with Green and Woodward, the Sox at least now have a serviceable SS.

    Just because he makes gobs of money doesn't mean he should gladly take s*** from *******s like that fan. Rich, poor, it doesn't matter. People still have pride. If Rios had kicked that guy's ass in front of his kids, who gives a f***? The guy had it coming.
