No, my intention was to point out how you and Emmz haven't changed much since you both took your leave of absence. People who think your tag team bullying act is tired are obviously all stirring the pot or trying to incite something or baitng you or trolling (Edit: forgot that one). Nothing has changed.

I haven't done any moderating. But maybe somebody should because you two have fallen into old habits pretty fast. Dipre and Emmz ganging up on people who disagree with them. Deja vu all over again.

The playoffs may be a crapshoot, but you have to admit with a roster like that the Sox would probably be favored to win it all. "Asinine" is a bit too abrasive here.

I think DeSean Jackson has to be in the discussion for breakout player of the year, even though he had a really good rookie season.

Ricky Williams is ancient for a RB and is having one of his best seasons. Here is a guy who squandered his talent for a number of years but has put himself back on the map. Favre never left the map. Cedric Benson was uninspiring on the Bears and had off-the-field problems. He looked like a classic bust. And yet here he is. Chad Johnson set a career-low in Y/R last season. It looked like his career was winding down. Now, it looks like he still has a lot left in the tank. Favre throwing 22 INT is nothing new. He's thrown 21, 23, 23, 24, and 29 before. Edit: I didn't think Davis really had that down of a year in '08. He had less receptions, but his Y/R was much better than in '07. This season looks more like a breakout year than a comeback.

Comeback POTY has to be Cedric Benson or Ricky Williams. Maybe even Chad Johnson. What has Brett Favre come back from? A lousy second half and a Hall of Fame career?

On the whole, I think it's difficult for fans to rate prospects. We may have access to scouting reports and stats, but generally you have to go by what other people say and draw your own conclusions.

If Coke had given up less HRs, he would have had a very good year. Yankee Stadium hurt him a lot. Comerica Park will help him a lot. My only gripe against him is he spits every two seconds. Schlereth has good stuff. Austin Jackson has athleticism and could still develop. Scherzer has front of the rotation stuff and will be much better than Edwin Jackson in the long run, IMO. Verlander and Scherzer could wind up being an awesome 1-2 punch.

Yes, his peripherals have always been great (except HR/9). Consistent? I'll give you that. He has consistently underachieved.

The only guarantee you have with Vazquez is that he'll eat up innings. But for his stuff, this guy is a huge underachiever. He gave up 1.5 HR/9 when he was on the Yankees in 2004. Expect more of that at that launching pad you call a baseball park.

Zambrano, yes. Bonderman and Lowe, no. Bonderman can't stay healthy to save his life. Lowe will be 37 and got rocked in the NL East last year.

Why can't you? Before Damon played at the New Yankee Stadium, he never had an OPS+ of 126 in his entire career. Damon's OPS+ in '07 and '08 were 96 and 118. Granderson's OPS+ in '07 and '08 were 135 and 123. I would say Granderson is more than capable of matching Damon's offensive production. That right field porch did wonders for Damon. It stands to reason it'll also do wonders for Granderson. Besides, you also conveniently ignored the fact that he's a much better outfielder. I'll grant you that Matsui's production will be harder to match, but Johnson's career OBP sits at .402 while Matsui's sits at .370. Matsui may have more power than Johnson, but Johnson makes less outs than Matsui. If he is healthy next year, and I know that's a big if, I could see him putting up similar numbers to what he did in 2005. I'm not trying to pump up the Yankees or make them out to be better than they are. I'm just being realistic.

If they got Zambrano, he wouldn't be their 5th starter. He's probably be their 3rd.

I don't see how Granderson is a downgrade when he could very well hit 40 HRs next year and is a much better outfielder than Damon. And if Johnson stays healthy and continues to be an OBP machine, their offense doesn't really miss a beat. Johnson could easily hit 15 HRs or so in Yankee Stadium. Potentially, they could be getting 55 combined HRs from Granderson and Johnson. Damon and Matsui gave them 52 last year.

As far as FAs go, the pickings get slim after that. But, and this is just my opinion, I think they're going to make a big trade. Can't say who they'll go after, though.
