  1. Wouldn't call it trolling. I'd say he was giving Imperial a taste of his own medicine. Imperial is an intelligent fan and has made sound arguments, but he's been grilling Jacko and other Yankee fans for a lot of stupid s***. Some of it may have been merited, but I think he went overboard.
  2. This line of questioning isn't really fair. Kind of hard to provide tangible evidence for something so abstract.
  3. Jacko can hold his own in most debates when he's not specifically trying to undermine the Sox or pump up someone like Juan Miranda, but he doesn't really have a leg to stand on here.
  4. Cervelli is a lot younger than I thought he was. He's a decent backup catcher. He's good defensively. Any offense he gives you is a bonus.
  5. Wow, standing room only sucks. Never doing that again.
  6. Ah, thank you. Corrections made.
  7. I like this move as well. Hall can play a lot of positions and has more pop than Kotchman. The Mariners are making a mistake, though, if Kotchman is Branyan's replacement.
  8. AFC WC: Patriots over Ravens AFC WC: Jets over Bengals NFC WC: Cowboys over Eagles NFC WC: Packers over Cardinals AFC D: Chargers over Patriots AFC D: Colts over Jets NFC D: Vikings over Cowboys NFC D: Packers over Saints AFC: Colts over Chargers NFC: Vikings over Packers Super Bowl: Colts over Vikings
  9. Agreed. If you could have recruited some of those Rice players, you would have been in good shape.
  10. It's good that they announced this now rather than spring it on Ellsbury in ST or the beginning of the season. Let him come to terms with it and move on. It's for the good of the team. I'm sure he sees that.
  11. The top of the lineup is worse without Bay, but the bottom of the lineup is much better now. No more easy outs.
  12. Haha, that's giving up way too much for him.
  13. Looks like Lowell is as good as gone. No surprise here.
  14. Guess you can stick a fork in this thread. For now.
  15. With Beltre in the mix, Youk can play 1st and Kotchman can sit his ass down on the bench where he belongs. All is right in the world.
  16. This team can play some D. Only real weakness now is catcher.
  17. Loney is a much better option than Kotchman (even though he also doesn't have that much power for a first baseman), but giving up Buchholz for him is not a good idea.
  18. I would have Drew bat 5th, Ortiz 6th, and Beltre 7th. Youkilis and Martinez are interchangeable at 3 and 4.
  19. Dunn is probably the best candidate to replace Ortiz. I would never start him at 1st.
  20. Luke Gregerson was a stud last year. Mike Adams is good. And Joe Thatcher has been good 2 out of 3 seasons. I'm not saying the Padres will contend. But I honestly think they could flirt with .500 ball. A lot of things have to happen, but it's not inconceivable.
  21. They have some young talent. Everth Cabrera, Will Venable, Chase Headley, and Kyle Blanks could all wind up being pretty good. If Chris Young can stay healthy and return to form and Kevin Correia can duplicate what he did last year they'll be okay at the top of the rotation. They also have Mat Latos, Aaron Poreda, Wade LeBlanc, and Clayton Richard. All of whom could develop. Still a lot of of question marks, but the talent is there.
