  1. Thome would get a lot more ABs with the White Sox; they don't really have a DH right now. And he wouldn't be a good fit with the Red Sox since they might need someone to platoon with Ortiz to hit LHP. And I wouldn't even entertain the idea of him at 1st base or 3rd base.
  2. So, I'd seen clips of this before, but never the whole argument. All I can say is... Best. Thing. Ever.
  3. Good team with KG. Average team without him.
  4. First Jim Edmonds. Now Preston Wilson. Who's next, Jacque Jones? What's with these has-beens trying to come back? I guess it's hard to let go of the game.
  5. The Giants re-signed Bengie Molina for 1 year. Color me surprised. Thought for sure he'd end up on the Mets.
  6. Looks like the Hairston brothers will be playing together in San Diego. Too bad the Padres don't have Edgar Gonzalez anymore. Two pairs of brothers on the same team would have been unique. Possibly historic?
  7. Cano has unrealized potential. He is definitely capable of having a better season, especially now that he's entering his prime.
  8. There is also nothing wrong with bunting when the situation calls for it.
  9. Don't forget Manny.
  10. You'd want the Sox to play at Fenway and the new park? No chance of that happening.
  11. When it comes to Pittsburgh, anyone can be gotten. Garrett Jones has always had pop, but not the contact and plate discipline he exhibited last year. He'll definitely regress in 2010, but obviously NYS wouldn't hurt his power numbers.
  12. Granderson has played 4 full seasons. In 2 of those seasons, he's had a better OPS+ than Matsui. He's also been more durable the last 4 seasons. Like I said before, hard to say he's an upgrade or a downgrade offensively. We'll have to see how it plays out.
  13. Unbiased analysis and sound logic. Good breakdown.
  14. I hope Gerald Wallace makes the All-Star team. I've always liked him. Solid two-way player. A poor man's Scottie Pippen, but that's a compliment.
  15. LaRoche would have been much better off taking the Giants' offer for 2 years $17 mill. Although, statistically speaking Arizona is the better choice. So much for Joel Zumaya becoming their closer.
  16. Unless he plans on playing in college, NWIH Harper falls to #20.
  17. BA has him ranked pretty high for the draft. But none of us can read Theo's mind.
  18. Yankee Stadium is a pitcher's park. I'll have to remember that.
