    If Betts was ever a bad player, I would be pretty shocked. He seems like a guy who is so good and so high IQ that he'll at the very least provide some type of value, even when he's older. I don't know what the advanced numbers say in terms of his defense at these positions, but its pretty impressive he is able to slide in and play SS/2B.

    I like Casas a lot and think he's going to be great, but he really needs to work on his defense.. However, that could be said about the majority of the team.

    Yeah compared to some other contracts, Mookie’s is very reasonable. For example, someone like Manny Machado is going to be paid $35 million a year from his age 34-41 seasons. Machado is a good player, but he’s no Mookie.

    Aaron Judge is also already 31. Mookie was traded after his age 26 season. Mookie’s skill set should age pretty well, while bigger players who strikeout a lot don’t really age that well. Look at Giancarlo Stanton who is only 2 years older than Judge. But yes, I agree the Yankees kind of had to pay Judge and Red Sox SHOULD have paid Mookie.
