  1. I still think it’ll end up a good move. His defense alone holds a lot of value.
  2. 5.2 innings with 0 runs is not a quality start. Baseball is weird
  3. Even this season alone, he hits 9th and contributes enough offensively with his elite defense that he has a 1.6 WAR. He is a very good player. Will he be frustrating on offense sometimes? Sure. But he’s a bottom of the order bat and still contributes while giving us elite defense and elite base running when he gets on. Hes also still just 24.
  4. He’s actually improved a lot and is the least of my worries. He hits 9th and no matter what is giving you elite defense
  5. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. Go Sox
  6. NBA has the smallest percentage of players that actually make it due to smaller rosters but they are usually paid the most. A lot of role players make $20+ million a year. NFL probably has the highest chance they of “making it” due to huge rosters (50+ players + practice squads) and two extra teams (32 compared to 30 in MLB and NBA) but also has the negatives of high injury risk and non guaranteed salaries.
  7. Unrelated but holy s*** are the Rockies bad. They are down 19-0 in the top of the 5th. They might be worse than 24 White Sox
  8. Absolutely dominant performance by Crochet. That is what an ace does
  9. I like Narvaez more and more each game. He’s so damn good defensively and anything he does offensively is gravy.
  10. If Story is not going to hit, he could at least field…
  11. You aren’t moving a hitter like Devers and getting fair value, especially with that contract. It isn’t worth moving him. Does what he said sound selfish? Yeah, obviously. But trading him or getting rid of him because he’s mad about position changes doesn’t help the team.
  12. I know Cora doesn’t want to play him in the field but I think the answer should be Devers. A lot of players have made the switch from 3B to 1B and it’s a pretty natural switch. Miguel Cabrera. Albert Pujols, Kevin Youkilis and most recently Vladdy Jr all made the switch fairly easily. It might not be smooth at first but the team needs a long term answer with Casas out for the year and possibly part of next year. Guys like Dalbec, Dom Smith and etc aren’t the answer.
  13. Pulling Crochet was the move today. He didn’t have his best stuff and got hit by a hard grounder in the nose. He battled and gave 5 innings: the bullpen just sucked
  14. Does anyone line out to left more than Duran? I feel like he has that happen a lot
