My thoughts exactly.
I'm not sure they'll get the Wild Card, but there's a decent chance they'll be in contention. Volquez is an emerging star and if Cueto can be fairly consistent that's a nasty combo there. Lots of good young talent.
Good point on the Dusty Baker factor though. Who knows, he might let Volquez try to throw 4 CG's in April and ruin him for the rest of the season.
This.
He is going to be playing his butt off just to spite the Knicks and how that situation was mis-handled. I just don't see him causing any problems, because like it was already stated, we can just cut him whenever.
I just wanted to say that Devan Harris play from tonight was probably the most absurd play this entire season. And to think that was a game winner. Absolutely incredible. If you haven't seen it, turn on ESPN.
Just out of curiosity, since it's head to head, are the standings going to be like fantasy hockey? As in, if I win 7 categories and lose 3, will I be 7-3 after one week or will I just be 1-0 for winning my matchup?
I wasn't paying much attention when I saw an ESPN bottom line alert when that was the score and thought to myself, "why are they giving me an update from the 1st half?". A few minutes later I saw it was a final. How do you shoot 27% and WIN?
That dude is legit. Saw him live Saturday and man, he really is poised for a rookie.
Steve Mason is also a beast. He had a streak of 2-3 shutouts in a row going about a month ago. He is single handedly trying to get the Jackets to the playoffs.
