    That's going to turn out to be a really nice trade. It may not be til 2015, but once Craig fully recovers and gets comfortable I think people will see what a good get it was.

    Haven't been a lot of highlights for anyone this year. X is having a tough year - keep in mind he's still just 21 though.

    Crazy how bad his average velocity has fallen since leaving Boston.

    That's what I'm saying. Guys are going to get hurt on every team - having really good players like Carp on the bench to fill in is what separates us from most clubs.

    Yeah, I would say Carp is a very valuable guy to have around. If Napoli goes down he can play 1B. Otherwise he's a backup OF. But having quality bats like Carp and Gomes (who would start for some clubs) come off the bench last year was a huge strength of the team and it's no different this year, especially with injury-prone guys like Sizemore and Victorino around.

    As for Carp, he's going nowhere. Have you seen his contract? He's making basically nothing and is under team control for something like the next 3-4 years. To have a very valuable guy like that making nothing is a HUGE asset.

    Remy coming back is great news. I wasn't sure he was going to return (and who could blame him if he didn't) but I sure am happy to hear that.

    Despite the recent slumping Drew is a very solid SS. Don't think he's coming back though. Someone will give him a 2 or 3 year deal.

    The main question this season - will anyone beat Alabama? I really don't see it. I went to their game weekend before last when they plastered Arkansas 52-0, and while that's not good competition, they just did everything so well. I'd like to see a Bama/Oregon title game. While I don't see any way Alabama would lose, it'd be fun just to watch the contrasting styles.

    To be fair, West Xylophone State is a little down this year. Tough break losing their QB like that in the pre-season.

    Speaking of McCarver, does anyone remember "Scooter" the cartoon baseball? FOX debuted him during a Sox/Yankees game in like 2004 I think and it was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in my life.

    Those of you that have the opportunity to be in Boston on Wednesday are incredibly lucky. All I can think of is how cool it would be just to be in the city that day, going to the game or not.

    $80 million for Lincecum at this point is insanity and extremely careless. I think he ends up getting something to the effect of 2/24 or 3/33.
