  1. Seems the Yanks are in similar financial issues as the Red Sox were in last off season. The Yanks could very well be looking at a meltdown season too. Old rotation, left side of the infield is hurt, holes in the OF and not much money to fix the wholes. Not saying it's a sure thing but a lot is going to need to go right for them to compete(same for the Red Sox. don't get me wrong). But there are some scenarios that could lead to a Yankee purge. Unlikely as it is, it's interesting to think of them cutting ties with Jeter, Pettitte, Mo, trading Cano and Arod(eating money obviously. Probably Keep CC and Tex. They would have tons of money and a few new prospect to remake the roster. Just thinking out loud, just an interesting discussion

  3. I started all this by saying if the Sox traded Lester for Myers it signaled a larger rebuild and I wasn't sure if they would be making any bigger FA additions this season because of it. Napoli signals something else. Now the only scenario I can see them trading Lester is either they are signing someone to replace his production and keeping Myers, or trading Myers+++ for a #1 type pitcher. Ellsbury+Myers+Cecchini+Webster+Workman get's someones attention
  4. The rumor going around is Salty for Floyd. I don't call that "no value". The catching market is thin and Salty has promise of power. That gives him some measure of value.
  5. I think it was a stretch before. This may be the final nail in the coffin.
  6. They are better off paying the surgeon to screw his hip up and force him to retire lol Anyway Jacko can do the surgery?
  7. Hmmm ok, Wow ya that line up would be pretty bad ass. We will see, I'm hopeful.
  8. The Napoli deal really set the tone here for the day. It's been nice around here, well except for the f***tard bubbakeg
  9. Well Swisher can technically bat LH too but ya, it's getting interesting.
  10. I think these moves would be a good compromise for what all of us wanted to see the team do. They field a competitive team without blocking or trading the next batch of high talented prospects. I don't think either side of the fence could argue these moves if they so happened. It could be as peaceful as it's ever been at talksox
  11. Pagan gets 4/40 Victorino has multiple 3 year offers with a 4 rear offer in there Yankees interested in Ross. At this rate whomever gets Ross will be luck if it's only for 3 years
  12. I wonder how buddy buddy Napoli and Hamilton are?
  13. I think Atlanta might package Simmons for Upton. I'd rather just spend money on Swisher/Hamilton then give up top prospects for Upton.
  14. Soriano is going to be too expensive. Wilson is def a possibility. I'm hoping for a Jurrjens signing too.
  15. I don't see that as unreasonable. Salty to the White Sox for Floyd is a great match up. But Haren would be tricky at that point because they would have Lester, Buchholz, Haren, Floyd, Lackey and Doubront. Maybe Lackey starts on the DL. Or the Sox pull the trigger on a Myers deal and look to add a SP later in the season if need be? Hamilton is tricky also, but it doesn't seem like he is getting those long term options. So a shorter deal with bigger AAV could actually work. 3/75(25M AAV), 4/88(22M AAV), 5/100(20M AAV). 5/125 is absolute comfortable limit, and I made need a couple tums at night
  16. Wilson might struggle to get the 2nd year or that high of an AAV because I believe he is older. But it may not be far from that. I'd be ok with Wilson on a 1-2 year deal at 6-8M a year.
  17. Looks like Soria to the Rangers for 2 years. Might miss some of next season but should be full strength to take over for Nathan by year 2.
  18. If a bear shits in the woods do the trees make a sound eating it?
  19. Well Ross probably wouldn't gain you much. It might very well be a wash defensively.
  20. Good deal. He will miss part of this season, but with the 2nd year the team should have a replacement for Nathan.
  21. I can't tell if this guy is drunk or mental..
  22. I would buy a John Lackey jersey to make them stay away from Dickey...seriously..
  23. Fair enough. Speaking Dutch all the time is eroding my English conversation skills
  24. Exactly. They probably aren't getting better then that production. So now there is little upside to Dickey. At best your hoping he continues production at his current rate. And your not even considering the headache of having to sign him to an extension. Which if you were trading a top prospect you would have to do.
  25. But he's still a Knuckleballer, a gimmick pitch. I respect Dickey and his skills. And I love the Knuckleball. Doesn't mean I would want him or want to give up anything of not for him. I don't see many GM's willing to either. Report yesterday was the Mets had been overly underwhelmed by the offers for Dickey. Fact of the Matter is Dickey and his deal are more valuable to the Mets then he is to any other organization.
