  1. It's random, could be on first log in, after a post, any time a new page loads basically.
  2. Stop entertaining him. He's obviously a troll
  3. Lord Snow is an idiot and will most likely commit message board suicide. Don't bother
  4. Haren signed with the Nats Lord, get a clue.
  5. Seattle rumored to be offering 3 years deals ranging from 20-25M in AAV.
  6. He might have just been mentally beat. i think we see a different Bard in ST. Well I hope so at least
  7. Sox have roughly 40M to the LT. So they could theoretically fit him in. He is signed for 13:$25.5M, 14:$25M club option ($5.5M buyout). I proposed before the Mets kick in 11M. Makes '13 salary for Sox 20m and cover the '14 buy out.The Sox can buy him out and make him a qualifying offer and either save 7M and bring him back or get a pick.
  8. Must have been what Cherries alluded to when he said not teed up just yet. Good 7-8 inning guy. Great K rate.
  9. I can see where your coming from but with him having multiple interested parties I think it's more his overall skill level then being blinded by his SB stats.
  10. Ok now I'm going to be checking MLBTR like every 5 secs On a scale of 1 to 5, Napoli is a 4 signing, Vic is a 2.5-3 with a shot at being a 4
  11. Your pitching will carry you? Ok I'm not gonna jump on you too much since you do seem to realize 2013 could work out if the Yanks can squeeze enough from the old guys or go belly up.
  12. If the Red Sox were in the Yankees position you would already be throwing dirt on the coffin.
  13. A lot of them. And he was terrible. But I'm chalking that up to the yo yo ride he went on last season. Like I said I think an off season to reset mentally and physically could go a long ways for him. I don't think he's turned in to Rick Ankiel
  14. Gotcha, no worries
  15. I just had a 45 min stretch with error screens before it finally let me back on.
  16. Ok so far the rumors this morning are Grienke to Texas, then Texas trades for Upton. Seattle was thought to be next in line but comments from their front office say nothing is remotely close. So Hamilton is still available with his top suitor out of the picture. This could be a situation where we see a team swoop in and grab Hamilton.
  17. I'm trying to stress a point and just saying it in a different way to help get it across.
  18. We have seen guys have issues bouncing from RP to SP to RP before. Yes there is a chance he never comes back. But I think there is a chance he does. I'm just not ready to completely give up. I also think they should sign a guy like Wilson who should be ready by mid season. There really isn't any sure shut down late inning guy right now. But Bard, Wilson, Bailey, Morales(if he's not SP I think he make a good late inning flame thrower) isn't bad. Full of ? but sometimes that's just the way BP's are. I would say maybe they get Soriano, but that avenue has multiple issues.
  19. This may have just guaranteed Bard as the 2013 Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year hahaha But seriously, I think he will be a good piece in the BP this season after getting a mental break and then coming back in with the mindset of pitching out of the BP. It will be one of the interesting story lines come ST for sure.
  20. Do you like going to restaurants ordering a meal then going to the kitchen when it's half done, start eating it, then complain about it being an unfinished meal? We need to wait and see what the final roster looks like before judging the overall off season and state of the roster.
  21. Right now I still see Salty for a SP(Floyd) as happening. Ells could be traded now if the right deal can be found, but that might take some action to bust up the current Ranger induced log jam FA market before someone is ready to move on a CF. It's also conceivable they hold on to Ellsbury and move him later in the season. Or if the team is doing well and a SP is not needed they could keep him for the whole season and collect a pick after the season. I'm ok with any of these approaches. Lester Buchholz Floyd Doubront Lackey/Morales/(FA) It's not a Washington rotation. But if Doubront continues to progress and everyone else pitches near career averages it's not a bad rotation to start out the season. Braden, Jurrjens, Hernandez, Liriano, Marcum, and McCarthy are all good one year candidates for depth moves too.
  22. Isn't it normal for his types to come out of the wood works this time of year?
  23. Yup whether we like it or not, the fact Ells is a Boras client is a knock on his value(not saying if he was with someone else the Sox could then get Holland, just a general statement).
  24. Your selling on him too quick fred. That and if the Sox add another bat they can hide him at #9. They will get elite SS defense for a pitching staff that needs as many breaks as possible. He may never be an elite hitter. But league average is not out of the question. If you consider his age, transition to America from Cuba, the level he started at and the speed which he was promoted on defense alone to the upper minors it's not surprising his offense is lagging behind. IMO He will get his shot like Pedroia did. They will stick with him because of his defense no matter how he's hitting. Then after a full season they may re-evaluate. It's possible he's just keeping the seat warm for Bogaerts. And if he is just a filler, then having an elite defender hit 9th isn't too bad for a couple seasons.
  25. In the BP. I expect him back on track after a winter to kind of reset. His role in the BP? Ideally CL but for now it's TBD.
