  1. He will get boo'd and he should He got his ovation with the White Sox.
  2. If he was going there in his prime and was going to terrorize the Sox for the next 5 years I'd care more. He's trying to showcase himself for that last multi year deal and NY he will get that chance. As far as making the Yankees better? Meh. He was a shell of his formal self last season. He will be a nice role player for them.
  3. Swisher is more likely to get 13-15M for 4-5 years. Upton is like 3 or 4 years younger.
  4. It's why they are called projections not guarantee's
  5. I can't believe how quiet the Hot Stove is. I mean not even 1 outlandish rumor on MLBTR....
  6. They didn't miss a beat with Kazmir, Garza, Jackson. were traded away. All 3 were big contributing parts of the rotation prior to being traded. I think it could argued they got better upon trading these players.
  7. For the love of God these are "Fangraph" projections using a Bill James formula... He did not predict anything for anyone on the Sox or anyone else in the league.
  8. Could very well be true. Whatever the case is they usually seem to have enough SP. And I would take any of them on the Sox right now hahaha Splits be damned!!
  9. No they won't feel the lose of Shields. They are one of the few fortunate organizations that can trade SP and not feel the pinch. They have some great young arms that should be able to replicate Shields production this year and might even be better. This team knows pitching. if they felt comfortable trading Shields and Davis they must feel like those other guys are ready to step up. There's a reason they stay competitive year in and year out with no payroll. If this team or Friedman gets backed with a payroll.... good night lol
  10. That's not a way to approach FA SP. The last time the Sox went with this kind of thought they landed Lackey... And he's had meatball problems ever since. To be honest there's no one worth more then a one year commitment out there. The Sox shouldn't strap themselves long term with anyone this year.
  11. You could say that if it was James making these predictions. But he's not. It's the fangraphs teams using James formula. People are jumping on the guy for being a homer and he had nothing to do with it hahahaha idiots
  12. It depends on his price. At 4/60M they may consider him. At 5-6 years? it's doubtful. He's a guaranteed overpay at this point considering the SP shortage.
  13. Most aren't discrediting. Mostly just see his value is high and since he's young there's always the chance of regression, hurting his value. With Victorino signed it's easier to move him and see what develops over the next 3 seasons then it was when he was likely Ellsburys replacement come 2014. Don't look at more people being ok moving him as a sign of discredit. The willingness is the only thing that's changed as the circumstances have changed.
  14. He will play like 50%, Lavs 40% and Napoli 10%(catching Lackey). That's my guess.
  15. I think people are down on him because he hasn't proven being back fully from TJS. If he does people will come around. Guy has high 90's stuff.
  16. I think Ross plays more then both of them.
  17. I doubt they sign both.
  18. I hate rushing prospects, but I would rather stick 2 of them in there then those guys.
  19. I would be more pissed. First time ever all three of us have been on the same page. If this doesn't conclude they should stay away from those guys, nothing will
  20. TB also has tons of pieces to go get more offense. I can see them trading for Choo. CF Jennings 2b Zobrist 3B Longoria RF Choo SS Escobar LF Joyce 1B Loney C Molina That's a good lineup, Myers will be up mid season and rotate in the OF and DH probably. TB is gonna be good next year. They are the current favorites in the East right now IMO.
  21. I won't be among them ether. They need to add something. At least one SP maybe two and a guy like a Jurrjens for depth. I'm still holding out hope they trade for Floyd. But I haven't read anything about it within the last week. That said I'd rather they do nothing if it comes to signing Dempster and Lohse for any kind of deals. If it's possible to have negative interest in players then that is how I feel on those too.
  22. The more I look into the deal the more I believe TB absolutely robbed KC Friedman is a man beast. If he ever went to an organization that had money he would dominate baseball until the day he retired hahaha
  23. Ok but think about it, how many deals for Ellsbury get you a SP+? Not many. Most of the deals we have discussed here would send prospects along with Ellsbury in a deal for a SP. I lke this deal because it's a SP with some upside and no prospects added to Ellsbury. Now f there was someone considerably better available in a deal that sent Ells + prospects then ok, but I don't think that deal is out there right now. They can still get a Pick for Bailey. He will be 27 going into his age 28 season next off season. The Sox can offer him a qualifying offer because I think it would be safe to bet someone will sign him.
  24. Like I said in the other thread, part of me is glad they are trying to contend this season but part of me thinks having that package TB just got for Lester(if it was that kind of offer, I think Friedman took KC to school so maybe they couldn't have got as much) would have been better. Barnes De la Rosa Webster Workman Odorizzi Montgomery +Myers all on the cusp in 2014 would have been sweet.
  25. Yes but Ellsbury is gone after this season. Bailey is a FA too. So they would still get a pick. Bailey has upside and is probably a better bet to be able to extend if he did well. I also said they would need to add a COF before doing this. So theoretically you could look at it as Ellsbury, Victorino and current SP or Vic, Ross/Hamilton/Swisher/whomever and Bailey added to the SP. Which scenario do you like better? I like the one with Vic in CF player X n RF and Bailey added to the rotation.
