  1. Ya that's a nice add. His slash line against LHP is ridiculous.
  2. What's Lackey's timeline for return? Is he going to be ready for the beginning of the season? Or will he miss some time? Morales could break camp in the rotation if Lackey isn't ready. They might not be done with the rotation yet. With Hanrahan on the team they could move Iggy and Bailey to Detroit for Porcello. I'd feel pretty good about a rotation of Lester, Bucc, Dempster, Doubront and Porcello. I'm betting if Lackey shows he's healthy in ST they could move him to a team that has some injuries in their rotation coming out of ST.
  3. I think Iggy and Bailey are going to be on their way to Detroit for Porcello. They could really use Iggy's caliber of defense at SS and can hide him at #9. Bailey is the possible CL they are looking for.
  4. I doubt very much Doubront gets traded. It would have to be part of a package for a front line SP and those aren't available at the moment in most cases. It's more likely Doubront is a big part of the plans for the 2013 rotation in Boston.
  5. Because Laroche is not a good fit? He's 33 and not putting up those '12 numbers at Fenway. If he was worth keeping around long term the Sox would have kept him the first go round. I got nothing against the guy, he's decent player, but not someone I'd want to see the Sox dump 3/40-45M on.
  6. Miguel Cabrera is a generational hitter.
  7. Maybe that's what's holding up the Hanrahan trade? Maybe they have decided they won't sign Napoli and therefore need Sands and are renegotiating now?
  8. I agree. I would consider Bauer and say Myers as "Elite" prospects. Strasburg, Harper, Felix and Trout were "Generational" prospects.
  9. Maybe the deal the deal is getting bigger? I'm sure we will here something as soon as Edes gets some coffee in him lol
  10. I like the idea of Jones coming back but don't think it's happening. His name would have been leaked with the other names or at least a "Jones is is being discussed as part of a possible deal". I think it's more likely some prospects are coming back. That Robinson guy I saw mentioned earlier made some sense.
  11. Pimtel and Sands for Hanrahan is not bad. I wanted to see what Sands could do, but he was movable. Depending on what the other pieces are it could be a really good move.
  12. Anything new on what the other pieces are yet?
  13. Edes says it's "close". Glad to add another BP arm, worried about whats going back.
  14. Kubel or Upton is probably available. Kubel is probably more likely to get traded. But I'd like the Red Sox to check in on Upton, they gave Bauer away, maybe they are still in the giving mood lol So Ross ends up getting more this off season then he did wanted last off season(was asking for 3/21M)? Wow nice one for him. Really glad the Sox didn't give him that though.
  15. I'd rather they trade him in a package for Porcello. Hanrahan would be just a big ? in the BP as anyone they already have. I don't see the upside in trading pieces for him.
  16. Ya pass on Iggy for one year of Hanrahan. I also find it a bit suspicious that a team as close to contention as Pittsburgh seems to be, is ready to trade away their closer? I'd rather they save the chips and sign Wilson.
  17. Thanks for the clarification.
  18. Pass on Laroche. Fenway will limit him. Morse be interesting. I'd offer Swisher 4/54M and see if he's take it. I don't really like the idea of sending NY a supp pick tho. I liked the Napoli signing, but the more this drags out the more I think they should just cut bait and move on.
  19. He would have been nice but 4 years is too much. I hope if they gave out a 4 year deal it would be for a #2 at least.
  20. I don't see a problem entering ST with extra players. It's injury insurance for the Sox and if they are fortunate enough to not have anything major they will have some valuable pieces that teams may be looking for.
  21. I think it's a better and more interesting option.
  22. Ya I would think a lot would have to happen to see Bogaerts in Boston this season. He's have to tear up AA and the Sox would need some sort of motivation to stat his service time that early. I also think they will give him every chance to stick at SS.
  23. At this point if they get him fine, if they don't it should make for an interesting 1B competition in ST.
  24. I think if Napoli deal goes through, then Salty will be traded. He's not a great C, but he has value as a power bat that can sometimes pass as a C. That gives him some measurable value. Not a ton though. I'm still hoping for a Salty Floyd swap. I think the Red Sox are stocking trade chips. If things are looking bleak around the TDL and some young talent has earned a look, I could see them moving Dempster, Ells, Drew, any of the BP arms and possibly Lester(if he pitches good not great he would have huge value at the TDL imo).
  25. Seattle just traded for Morales, with him and Montero, looks like Smoak might be the odd man out. Would like to see the Sox go after him and see what he could do outside of Seattle.
