  1. I don't think they can add another ML SP at this point. I have heard nothing that says Lackey shouldn't be ready to go at the beginning of the season. If that's the case the rotation is full at the moment. So I don't think Marcum is going to be an option. If any more SP get added it will be on minor league deals imo.
  2. A knee I believe.
  3. Napoli should see absolutely no time at C with a hip like his apparently is. Salty can still be dealt if they want. Or Lavs can start in AAA.
  4. Those pieces could already be on the roster and we don't know it yet. Always a few surprises every year. That and well, those could be spots the fill via trade later in the season.
  5. That's not money they have to play with. Like Pal said I believe, for this season they are about 10M from the LT. Thats what they have to play around with. Just because Napoli signed for less doesn't mean they now go out and give the rest to someone else. There's no one worth giving that money to. But because of the deal, they will likely have more to play around with next off season then the did originally. The team how it stands is pretty much what they will go with imo. A couple minor league signings(Jurrjens I'm hoping) and maybe a Salty trade and that about wraps it up for now.
  6. 1 year 5M with what close to 8M in incentives? That hip must be bad. Oh well it's a good deal even if is leg does fall off. Won't hurt the team long term. Def want Jurrjens. Don't see them spending the money saved on Napoli as it's still possible it reaches 13M and that would mean going over the LT limit which I think they are trying to avoid if they can.
  7. White Sox are still looking for a LHH C to platoon with Flowers. Not sure they get Floyd at this point but CWS is a possible destination for Salty none the less.
  8. This story is nuts. It sounds like he has been the victim of a hoax. idk what to think, mvp has a point where it could be something more deeply layered, or maybe Lane Kiffin had a grudge for him skipping out on USC and he hired an actress s*** is crazy and unfortunately eating up a lot of time on sportstalk radio this morning.
  9. Smart guy. If he gets into a back and forth it looks petty and it will just cause a circus.
  10. Ya can't really argue that. I'm surprised the Sox were able to get it down that much if it's true.
  11. They will just say Francona has an agenda
  12. Padilla just signed in Japan. Wow didn't see that coming. With his K/9 I figured someone would put him in their BP.
  13. Gonzalez made sense though, from a baseball stand point and a sizzle stand point. Pre-ob he was a player you anchored your lineup on. The Crawford and Lackey deals are really the ones where it was like really?
  14. Absolute hose for an arm. It's the only ting I have seen all scouts and reports agree on about him.
  15. Hahaha some one had serious beer goggles going I thought Lucc pushed for Crawford? Whatever, it's all in the past and that's where I'm leaving it. The Sox look to be on a different path now, so I'm going to look at the book and what comes from it as entertainment and that's it.
  16. If he is a competent defensive player he should be able to move back and forth. I have found moving 1B to the OF they typically settle in to RF easiest. I'm not saying it's a slam dunk. But having Brentz able to play 1B and RF for the ML team would make him more valuable to the team. The beauty of ST is trying new things and not worrying if the blow up. I think in the very least it should be attempted in the scenario the team is unable to get another 1B.
  17. But wait, I thought the state of the team was all Theo's fault? The people that burned and blamed him for everything when he was on his way out are going to look awful. I never understood the people who thought the downfall was all on Tito and Theo and the likes ok Lucchino and others never got any blame, and if they did it wasn't the same as the other two. The team became a ratings monster and had to be constantly fed even at the cost of the proven development route Theo and company had proven.
  18. Yup could be. Looking forward to the draft this season.
  19. Should be no big surprises. Him stating that the ownership group pushed for the flashy names as opposed to developing talent was obvious. Still should make for a good read.
  20. I think overall the minor league market has been kind of slow. There still so many ML free agents. I think you will see a flurry of minor league deals leading right up to and into ST. That and does the Sox system have a lot of room? I honestly don't know.
  21. Ya I'm hoping the Sox get him as well.
  22. In all fairness we need to come up with a name for an individual that is at the other end of the spectrum too. I think for people in the middle we will just call them the "greys"
  23. http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/1/11/3866008/rubby-de-la-rosa-nanny-pedro-martinez-grandmother https://twitter.com/GordonEdes/status/289782509456216064 a700, does this make you like him more?
