  1. Lowell,Taveras and MDC while COL eats 40M plus of the contract sounds like a good deal to me.
  2. Either way, the Lineup will eat starting pitchers up like the NYY lineup does. It will just wear them down. Can you imagine going to NY for a 3 game set then have to go to Boston for a 3 game set, The SP will be having cold sweats and nightmares at night.
  3. Wiffel ball rules! My league still uses aluminum bats, which i?m not looking forward too since I have to pitch at them LOL
  4. Pettite is quality but not dominate, but he deserves to be mentioned with the LH pitchers of the AL thatshould be worried about.
  5. I will never believe the poor mouthing our FO puts out there, of course all the pink hat wearing yuppies will because they have actually no idea of how our team works. They knew they where in it deep last year and was not getting out of it during the rest of the 06 season. Theo had no interest in Abreau, but had to say something for those stupid fans who don´t realize what the bigger picture is for the team, so they ran the where no the NYY linbe out there and the dumass´s out there bought it like you guys said. Besides its good strategy to poor mouth, then your rivals dont expect you to be in on certain players and then bam you make a big splash on Matsuzaka that was not expected, then add Lugo, Drew and Possibly Helton and everyone is left standing there with puzzled look on the faces saying `I thought they didn´t have money?
  6. 1.Lugo 2.Drew/Helton 3.Papi 4.Manny 5.Drew/Helton 6.Youk 7.Tek 8.Crisp 9.Pedroia That is a nice lineup, and a flexable one with Helton,Drew,Youk and Crisp having the ability to be plugged in at numerous spots. But they way I have it above is nice.
  7. Ya RS I have to agree this looks like a sweet deal, with only having to pay half his contract and having a chance to dump Clement's worthless ass is beautiful. And only having to give up a RP prospect is nice too. If they will take Lowell and Clement and 1 prospect you have to do it. Lowell is awesome with the glove but he won't be back next year so we might as well cash in on him now.
  8. The reason there at a stand still is it was reorted COL GM was out of town on family buisness and talks would resume Monday(today) or Tuesday. Helton wants a deal either done quick or he will veto it. He doesn't want any distractions leading up to ST. So the deal either gets done this week, or it won't get done at all. 1.Lugo 2.Drew/Helton 3.Papi 4.Manny 5.Drew/Helton 6.Youk 7.Tek 8.Crisp 9.Pedroia That looks so pretty... But if the deal falls threw like it has a big chance of doing I still think we have a good lineup going into 07.
  9. Ellsbury won't be involved COL just got Wily Taveras in the Jennings to Houston deal. So there set at young CF. If it's trues that COL will eat 40M or half of the contract then Helton at 8M or so a yr for the next 5yrs is a nice bargin. I do any combo of the following, Taveras,Clement, Lowell Clement,Lowell, MDC Taveras,Lowell,MDC Lowell,Clement,MDC If we have to give a top prospect, Hansen,Bard,Bowen,Buscholz,Ellsbury or MDC, my choice is obviousley MDC. I think Hansen can bounce back and should start the season in AAA. The three B's have to be categorized in the "Untouchables" catergory I would think. Atleast until we know more about them. If we can dump Clement in any of this it is a sweet deal.
  10. Why is everyone worried about a lineup thats too LH? How many dominate LH pitchers are there to face? Santanna,Kazmir,Buherle,Sabbathia, and Pettite are the only real quality LH pitchers out there. The rest we will be facing will be RH for the most part, and having all those hammers on the Left side wont be a problem at all.
  11. If it takes Lowell, Taveras, a prospect and Colorado eats half the contract, I would have to say is a deal worth serious consideration. The line up for the next few years would be chewing up starting pitchers and spitting them out. My only concern would be is how good Helton is in year 4 and 5? The Sox would no doubt buy out the 6th year at 23M for 4M, so we should look at this as like a 5 yr deal.
  12. I read on mlbtraderumors.com(ya I know but it was quoteing someone else) that the Money is half, so Helton at 45M over the next 6 years isn't bad at all.
  13. Everyone keeps forgeting about Cox. Foxsports.com had him as one of the best prospects starting 07 int he minors. He was 4th or 5th on the list.
  14. If they want three prospects back they better be eating a ton of cash. If there not swallowing atleast 30M of the 90M then they get 1 or two at the most. Unless they took Lowell off our hands, but I doubt they would.
  15. Someone please take this womens key board away. And I thought Jackson was always writing loaded posts! My apologys to you Jackson, your nowhere near as bad as this Suckubus. I don't really even want to merit her thread with a reply but my answer is neither. There both upgrades to the prior player at there respective positions. Agon was better D but Lugo's bat is far and away better the AGON's, and his glove will be enough to get the job done. Drew if healthy, is a better hitter then Trot in every category that comes to mind, and his D should be as good or better.
  16. The best thing you will get out of China is some good stat keepers, little guys love there math!
  17. I wouldn't bet on that happening, sounds to me like Edes had a brain fart, theres no way they switch it around. That be a dumb way to set your lineup, 1. Lugo RH 2.Youk RH 3. Manny RH 4. Papi LH 5. Drew LH They have to mix it up a little, It will be, 1. Lugo 2.Youk 3. Papi 4. Manny 5. Drew
  18. LOL, those are funny but I won't mind getting used to the 85-100 runs he will knock in.
  19. Well baseball tonight said it was a done deal at the time too, Houston's owner just vetoed it. Alot of reporters where pissed calling it one of the best baseball story's ever if it had gone threw. Houston's owner reasoning was because he didn't want another Nolan Ryan situation on his hands... What a tool, NR was there for a good period of time, RC has only been there for a couple seasons, its not like he was the face of the franchise like NR was. RC was a ticket seller thats all. Biggio,Bagwell(pre retirement) and Berkmen are the faces of the franchise.
  20. I'm in Holland so I think i'm F'D either way. But when I move into my ownplace I will def. be checking to see if I can get the ESPN's and MLB package.
  21. Getting back on topic of this thread, I havent seen any deal yet, why is this called cubs and zambrano reach agreement?
  22. Ya but you had to see that one coming tho, I mean I did, I figured Drew would be wearing #7, I mean he is a big money FA and they usually want and get there number in most cases.
  23. Just a thought here, but I was reading about Miny's financial situation saying they will most likely have to pick between Johan and Nathan, and one of the M&M boys. Nathan being 32 will likely help in his depature from Minn. I see them signing Johan out of the two. Now here is where things get interesting, the Sox need an offensive upgrade at 1st, they also will need a new catcher in the very short future, if Minny really only signs one then I think the Sox should be keeping an eye out for the other. If they sign Morneau, then Mauer wouldn't be a bad catcher to add or vice versa, just something I thought I throw out there for discussion.
  24. Well at the time when it was going on and right after the deadline PTI and around the horn and a couple other sport shows where talking about it and where all stating sources saying it was true, so I wouldn't call it a rumor, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors.
