  1. Have they said if they know when the expect it to stop raining?
  2. Rumor on ESPN radio said that Hughes thinks he did the damage sneezing, not pitching.
  3. Hughes still has plenty of time to make it. I can't see NY giving him up for Blanton or an off injured Hareden when they wouldn't send him away for Santana. If they do, it will be fun to see how fans react. All those who wanted to keep him will be flipping out to see him go away for a #2 pitcher LOL.
  4. Man I've had one of those. Its no fun at all. I can't imagine what it felt like to pitch with.
  5. The Yanks better hope for it to be a fake injury. If not, the this is the 2nd time Hughes has been on the DL in parts of 2 seasons. If this is real, Hughes is showing durability issues at a young age which is never good.
  6. LOL. I know man, 2 pitchers duels in a row. Nothing like a windy cold April night to deaden the bats. Bith pitchers have been pretty good tho.
  7. Whos gonna pitch then? The Yanks could be jumping into the trade market sooner rather then later. I think Texas's Millwood is a reasonable canidate to be traded to NY. I think Blanton/Harden price will be too steep.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3373940 Not having Arod's RH bat will hurt. If the Yanks loose Posada as well they might be in for a rough couple weeks.
  9. Nice 1st inning by Lester.
  10. Anyone got a weather update for the game?
  11. The Funk stops here boys! GO SOX!!!!!!!!
  12. I live in Holland so I feel your pain on the time difference. I have MLBTV and if I don't have to work in the mornings I stay up until 1am and watch the games. If not I watch the recap the next day. I read alot on the normal websites for info as well. BTW MLBTV's 1.2MB feed this season is really nice. The 400K you couldn't see the ball, 800 was servicable but the new 1.2 is great. Just thought I'd put that out there incase anyone was thinking of getting an account.
  13. Harden needs to show he can pitch more then three games before getting injured. His stuff is Ace quality, but he can't seem to stay healthy. He looked great at the beginning of this season. But I don't see anyone giving up anything close to what Beane will want for him, until he can proove he can stay out there. Not sure when he is set to return, but he will need to be really really good from now until the trade deadline, or I think Beane will hold onto him until next season.
  14. I think the might replace Hampton's contract. Zito is just awful. He has almost no chance of winning a game with his stuff at the moment. It's literally like batting practice. 84 MPH fastball thats straight as an arrow. I'm surprised Zito hasn't hit the DL with whip lash. Hampton sucks as well but he actually has a chance to win a game with his stuff if he can make it threw 5 innings without getting hurt. Heres a better question, does hampton have more of a chance of being healthy or does Zito have a better chance of finding a fastball?
  15. If he could eat innings and give a 4 ERA, I'd take it.
  16. Well my 2nd post with what I would trade might have been a little over the top. Kind of a knee jerk reaction. Its going to take a top pitching prospect, plus others depending on what the Sox have to eat on the contract. But mcclain has been known for killing trades, so I won't hold my breath. I just threw it out here for discussion cause all seems quiet at the moment. Another tid bit, from the Globe, Nick C. says that 2 GM's have contacted the Sox about the availability of Moss. Wonder what we could get for him.....?
  17. Bit of a small sample size for a man of stats such as yourself, but I'm not complaining:thumbsup:
  18. I think this deal would cost the Sox, Masterson/Lowrie/Moss +1 more pitching prospect, that said, Throw in the fact that theres no way they trade him to St. Louis, and probably would rather not trade him to ATL. Trading him to Boston would put him in the American league, and they would probably never have to face him, maybe in inter league every few years. Beckett Oswalt Dice-K Lester Buchholz For the next few season, ummmm yes please:thumbsup:
  19. This is nothing concrete, but theres been little in the rumor mill and I thought this was interesting atleast...
  20. Clay Buchholz, RHP (1-1, 4.79) Red Sox (15-10) @ Edwin Jackson, RHP (2-2, 4.63) Rays (12-11) Holy sweet flying Fahk Boys, lets get a W! Let's keep it simple, simple layout for the game, for a simple win:thumbsup: Scouting Report: Red Sox: Buchholz pitched brilliantly in his last start, firing six shutout innings in a victory over the Rangers. He allowed five hits and struck out six. Opponents are hitting .274 against Buchholz. This will be his first career appearance against Tampa Bay. Buchholz has given up three earned runs or less in three of his four starts. Buchholz has pitched eight games in his young career, going 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA. Rays: Jackson suffered through another sub-par start Sunday against the White Sox when he allowed six earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. The right-hander continues to show electric stuff, but struggles on the days when his stuff is not at its best. Jackson has worked to try and minimize the big inning, which he did not do well against the White Sox, when he allowed the White Sox to put away the game with a four-run fifth inning.
  21. Geeez who doesn't need TJ surgery these days. If your a semi hard thrower with a hard slider or some kind of pitch like that, you can write it down at some point the Pitcher will need TJ. But its a 90% or higher success rate surgery now, and the Sox aren't going to need him for awhile. So I guess its better to have it sooner then later.
  22. Not too bad of a review. I'd take him. I know the Sox have already got some pitching prospects, but stock pilling them makes it easier to use in a trade that nets you something you really want( Big time C prospect maybe(Salty preferably).
  23. Cool, probably a one and done(he will pitch tonight then be back in the minors tomorrow.) Well as mentioned on the Nesn broadcast last night, all 4 of the Sox top picks of 2004 are on the ML team. Which the FO and coaching staffs have got to recieve a pat on the back for. Add Dice-K,Lester,Papelbon,MDC,Pedroia,Lowrie,Ellsbury, Masterson( all guys with about 3 yrs exp. or less), and the young core of this team is very good and contributing to this team on a daily basis. The team is still 16-8 with Lowell out and Papi not putting up his regular numbers(he has turned the corner towards getting better tho). That must be a very scary thought for the rest of the league. And I dind't even mention Beckett yet, who could arguably be the best RHP in the game(at worst top 5). Throw in the Sox deep pockets, and we will have a great team to watch for a long time to come.
