  1. Is it the same boat that Wright, Desavo, Kennedy, Henn, and Clippard all drowned on?
  2. K, I was born in Waterville, went to school in Skowhegan.
  3. Not sure about the rest of him, but his gut seems to have filled out nicely
  4. Yes I bash Joba, but I also respect his skills and potential even if he hasn't put it all together. As far as the 3 pitches go, I'm gonna have to go with the scouts, seems how it is there job in all to determine these sort of things. Have you ever watched Clay pitch? His change up and Curve ball are right up there with the best in the game. And his fastball is his weakest pitch. Not for velocity reasons, but for location and consistency. He has much more control over his other pitches.
  5. BTW he looks weird with no goat hanging from his chin, LOL.
  6. His offseason work outs in AZ is pretty intense, so I would imagine that helped him fill out some.
  7. Ya, I stated earlier in the offseason if the right circumstances came about, that the Sox should invite him to camp. Its a very low risk hi reward type of deal too. But knowing Boras, now he knows the Yanks have interst so he'll be trying to squeezeout every penny he can.

  9. As much as Yankees fan's ballwashed Hughes, they have no room to blast anyone for believing in Buchholz.

Just like the one where you have to have so many posts to link a page?
  12. Since when is that an issue for you or anyone else associated with the NYY?
  13. And teams are just lined up around the corner to pay that too. Theres like 100 ML FA's still. There might be a chance that some players will have to concede in there demands. And possibly sacrifice playing time or something. Maybe he takes DC's multi year deal(rumored offer), or takes a 1 year deal for same AAV from the Sox and try to rebuild his market for next off season. I'm just saying even though it's a longshot, it's not totally absurd.
  14. He's still available. If his price bottoms out the Sox might consider him for 1 year. He would have to play 1B(which his ability/wiliingness is in ?) and OF of course, and also give Papi a breather. I'd say it's a long shot, But if Lowell looks horrible, or Papi is weak,or any number of other potential issues come forth, he could be an option.
  15. You think if Manny takes a 1 year deal and plays another good season, he will back down from his original goal? Next off season he is still going to want 3-4 years at 20-25M per. And if some team actually pays him that much, they will need to ad a postal service area to the locker room, for all the mail Manny will be sending in.
  16. Makes sense. Gives Wilkerson time to showcase a little, then maybe trade him off when Kotsay comes back. If Kotsay is able to return to playing condition.
  17. Actually the Sox and Yanks are near the bottom in league profits.
  18. This would not allow Manny to return to his normal self. He would have to hustle all season and not be a pain in the ass, for him to get a long term deal the following year. Manny doesn't want to have to do that. He did his hustling already, now he wants his money so he can relax, and get back to Manny being Manny.
