  1. Uggh... This is so dumb. Was Henry stoned or drunk during the interview? "Twitter will be the downfall of civilization as we know it... "
  2. I know he's injured. But he's do back by the end of the month. I figure I have 3 SP in the minors. I can make a gamble on a veteran like Westbrook. Pre injury he was a pretty solid SP. I know it's risky, but if he comes back strong from TJ surgery he could end up looking like a steal.
  3. Jake Westbrook, SP
  4. Not as hopeful as I first thought it might be LOL Although there is a SP I can think of that might make a nice fill for someone rotation.
  5. I know you can't say there names I guess, but what positions? I have a couple guys in mind for my next pick anyways.
  6. Greinke is the obvious choice. Halladay is next, but if he's going to be on the shelf he will fall down the list quick. If Beckett keeps pitching like he has been for the last month he will climb up the list. Lester as well but he has a ways to go still. If all 3 or 4 guys continue to pitch like this all season it should make for a great CY Young race:thumbsup:

  8. Considering who handles those situations it's surprising he's not suspended.
  9. And Girardi is sticking with Wang in the rotation after his "one pump chump" effort in his last outing LOL
  10. That's only because of his offensive support advantage he has. Most other guys in the league with 4+ERA don't generally win high teen amount of games.
  11. ummm... You think there going to let him go out every 5th day and fry the BP? Yes they could move him to the BP, or fake another injury to get him to the minors. Or they could listen to what teams might want to offer. Teams might find the cost of Wang to be a little more approachable then maybe it was before. Tthey aren't getting the most value they could have gotten out of him(that would have been pre-injury), but I believe they could get back something of use and of decent value right now. You let him continue to lose confidence or keep him in the BP, his value will only decrease. It's just a thought.
  12. I wonder if Mel Stottlemyre can convince the Diamondbacks to go after Wang. The Yanks might be selling low, but man is he awful for them right now. Maybe Mel can turn him around. That be a pretty sick 1-2-3 combo for AZ if Wang could pull it together.
  13. So are trades allowed in this league after the draft is done?. I think there should be a one week period in the off season where you should be allowed to make 1 to 2 trades. Of course I say this knowing full well I have the best minor league pitchers available:D
  14. As you can see I haven't drafted any relievers yet. Am I the only one that see's it as problematic? I mean we are trying to guess which relievers will be good for the next 5 years, when most of us or anyone else for that matter can't predict what the will do next season.
  15. It appears Wang couldn't get deep tonight.
  16. No they don't have a choice, and Boras knows that. Don't expect a signing until 11:30ish on August 15th. Between now and then, we should hear plenty of Japan clubs being mentioned, also a lot of Independent league teams will undoubtedly be used as leverage from the Boras camp. Blah Blah Blah. It's the Dice-K negotiations all over again, and this time he actually has leverage. The only way it get's done before then is if Washington gives into Boras's demands, thus bending over the proverbial barrel.
  17. Sorry guys, you didn't make you picks until almost 2:30am here and I had just gone to bed. I took Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies. I wasn't sure how I was going to set my defense up yet, but Gonzalez gives me options. He allows me to put one of my big power bats Braun/Hamilton at DH. Thus negating the trivial trial of trying to find some kind of power hitter left out there. I'll have to do a little more research on each players Defense/Arm before setting my OF.
  18. Carlos Gonzalez, OF(Rockies) Slide him into the OF, with Hamilton going to the DH spot for now. Thanks CD.
  19. You say that now, you may change your tune eventually;)
  20. Coco, A. Miller belongs in my rotation, Not Barring Badgers, Thanks
  21. I read that too. I've been advocating a Dice-K trade since the offseason when his value was at it's highest. Of course there are many bumps in that road. The 52M investment. A good portion might have been recouped already. Add in the signing of Tazawa and the Sox might be able to get a way with it. Dice-K is a solid pitcher. But he doesn't fit the philosophy in Boston. And has shown an unwillingness to change. He had a lot of success last season, but even during the season we all where worried about his pitch counts and his incapability to get late into games. Then there is the NTC. I will admit, I didn't know about it. This is a big monkey wrench. If you go to Dice-K and ask to trade him you risk damaging him mentally in some way or another. I think Dice-K could be a top of the rotation in the NL. It's way more his style. i also think the Sox could get back some really good value for him. Not sure what, but a legit ML bat, or a top C talent+. Not sure I see him getting dealt at this point, but the Sox should listen at the very least.
  22. I took Luke Hochevar. I think my MO has been established. I know he has struggled early on in the Majors. But his minor league numbers are very good.
  23. Luke Hochevar, SP
