  1. I used to not have to log in. But now I have the same issue with the auto log out. It is fairly annoying, and checking the box doesn't help.
  2. I took Beckham. After all was said and done I wasn't thrilled with my current 3B situation. This seemed like a pick with promise. From what I've heard/read he's on the fast track towards the Majors.
  3. Gordon Beckham, 3B(Minor)
  4. Wow we must be around the same age. When I think of the Sox when I was a kid/early teen, those are a lot of the names that I recall watching. Jefferson was always such a good hitter,Hanson had that one awesome year with the Sox, then fell apart. I'll never forget the Tony Pena crouch behind the plate, but my God he was horrible with the bat. Mo Vaughn was the man when I was young, got his autograph in Baltimore. I think he was one of the first real big superstars I remember watching on the Sox(I saw Clemens pitch, but it was his last few years in Boston before the roids, so he was basically a name). I remember when Hatcher stole home. I also remember him not catching the ball to Center when Danny Darwin was throwing a no-no. Only if he was like 2 inches taller:D Aaron Sele is also the first Pitching Prospect I remember following. And of course who doesn't love Rich "El Guapo" Garces? Tim Nahering, Scott Cooper, Tom Brunansky(sp?), Bob Zupzic(God they had some awful players playing everyday LOL), Mike Greenwell, Troy O'leary are also so names I can think of when I really first got into watching and following the Sox.
  5. Jacoby starts everyday, is on of the the best defensive CF, is $ on the bases, and if starting to show he can hit with consistency. Melky is almost always blocked by an over priced veteran. The only time Melky see's playing time on a regular basis is somewhere other then NY.And at that point his numbers will probably suffer from the lack of protection around him. He has a decent glove, but not much else in terms of physical tools. Melky has be s*** on this board for a couple years now. Maybe Carlos Gomez might have been an easier sell.
  6. If it wasn't for the big 52M posting fee, I think Dice-K would already be gone. I think they would have cashed in on his very high value this off season. But with all that money invested, I'm sure Theo would have a hard sell to the owners.
  7. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him turn it around. And I will continue to cheer him on. But he has shown me nothing to make me think he will bounce back. Listen I'm willing to take the beating if he does bounce back. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.
  8. Maybe for your 4th or 5th OF. You should have said the pick out loud. If it sounds dumb, it probably is:lol:
  9. Worst pick ever... Epic failure references in T minus....
  10. Ortiz is done. Tek has supplemented him as the power from the Left side() He's becomming more painful to watch at bat then Dice-K is in the mound. I will forever be great full for what Ortiz did for Boston. He will always be a favorite of mine. But it's time to move on. Whether that be bench him, get him to the minors some how, trade him or flat out release him. Send Dice-K/Lowell to St. Louis for Rasmus and Anderson Go get a slugging 1B. Let Ortiz ride off into the sunset.
  11. He needs to show it more often, or develop a change-up or something. Hitters are sitting on his FB. They don't respect his secondary pitches it seems.
  12. Sorry that you feel this way. But I am who I am, and I do what I do. And if you don't know this by now, or haven't blocked me out yet, then I'm not sure what I can say. Trade banter is one of my favorite thing to do pre TDL and off season. I'm sorry if it effects you in a negative way. I still contend that it is a great way to see how people really value players. So I'm sure I will continue to do so. I guess I could start my post with a "spoiler" alert of sorts. A sort of "don't read this if your not into talking hypothetical trade scenario's" type of deal? Would that help? Or would it be better for you personally if I didn't post all together?
  13. I talked to my pitching coach yesterday. He said the the split finger is the single most damaging pitch a pitcher can throw. So maybe that could be a reason he stopped throwing it. If this is the case, then he better develop a second pitch or he falls back to the pack some as far as closers go.
  14. MDC can be undervalued at times. Like I've said before I think it's because he does his work in the 6th/7th inning. If he put those numbers up in the 8th/9th inning, there would be a waiting line to jump on his jock strap...
  15. Anyone see the Sox dealing Paps in a blockbuster type deal? Hypothetically, what does everyone see the Sox getting in return? I really like him, but we all know he's going to hit Free Agency within the next couple seasons. There could because for concern for his arm long term. Is he a great sell high candidate, or should the Sox hold onto him for 2 more years and watch him sign with the Yankees and the backlash that would ensue?
  16. All that a side for now, considering what's left for 3B, how would you guys rate the pick?
  17. How can you not account for which ballpark they play the majority of their games at? It's going to effect there production, which in turn will effect others opinions of the player, which will effect their argument for or against the player. The point behind this whole deal. I'm not the message board expert, but does this constitute a "fail" reference?:dunno:
  18. I went with Edwin Encarnacion . I'll be honest I don't know a ton about the guy. I read a few scouting reports and took a look at his stats. He seemed to be a fairly young solid 3B, with some upside. And the cherry on top of this Sundae, is he plays in Cincy. One of the leagues more hitter friendly ballparks(a minus for my Harang selection though for the time being). The one aspect of his game I'm not aware too much of is his Glove. Is it any good? Or is this guy gonna need to switch positions?
  19. Edwin Encarnacion, 3B
  20. He reminds me more of Shrek on the mound. Huge upper body, smaller lower body, made to loo even worse with the high socks. Big gommy hands and little ears that poke out from a big head.
