  1. I'm sure that was a message to other GM's. Pretty much saying "we aren't going to bend over and take it to trade Teahen." Most GM's usually don't come out and flatly say " we don't see him in out future, so we want to get rid of him". It's all a matter of leverage.
  2. Sure, if we invoke Chuck Norris mojo to help us, The Texas Rangers are fooked.
  3. Texas Rangers... Chuck Norris Mojo:dunno:
  4. The GM I believe in an interview stated who was untouchable. Teahen was not on that list. I'll look for the article.
  5. And out of those polled, how many were MLB GM's? I'd imagine Theo wouldn't mind Buchholz in the Majors. But the reason Buchholz is still in AAA is because the FO did their job well, and supplied the team with 5 quality SP. He will get his chance eventually.
  6. I agree. They need to find an adequate platoon partner, that also has the ability to play every day if needed. Nick Johnson I think will be too expensive. I know Dojji will pop wood when he hears this, but Teahen is probably the best suited player for this role that is currently available.
  7. Careful, your starting to think like me.
  8. To get Lowrie going I might be inclined to go with a lineup something like this, SS Lowrie 2B Pedroia RF Drew 1B Youkillis DH Ortiz LF Bay 3B Lowell C Tek CF Ellsbury Or even just put Ellsbury back on top and Lowrie 9.
  9. God that's awful. I stand corrected. I was reading something about his stats in an article about his production out of certain spots in the line up. I must have confused lead off with #3 or something.
  10. I honestly think the pitcher to trade right now is Saito. He's probably going to be a "type A" FA. That sounds great, but it might be Juan Cruz all over again. Him knowing that he might just except arbitration. With his arm issues and with the uncertainty of knowing if they will get picks for him, I'd say move him sooner rather then later. There are plenty of teams looking for RP. Sherrill is the top name out there probably. Once/if he's traded the teams that couldn't pull it off will probably be interested in Saito. Smoltz could fill in the BP if he can't get going in the rotation. And who knows they might bring up Buchholz and Bowden and work them in out of the BP like they have done with other young pitchers. Getting them experience and limiting there IP. Just a thought.
  11. Because sometimes you get Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano;)
  12. And the fall of Dutchy begins. It's a slippery slope mate, get a grip while you can. You can't come in here and make a statement that is false and not expect people to call you on it. We have all tried, and we have all failed. Don't get personal. People aren't attacking you. The stats showed your claim to be false. Someone just decided to tell you. Be thankful CD is correcting you, it could be Gom.
  13. Ya that will make them better. But he still has to pitch in NY Stadium. I think that alone will bring him down to earth a little(IMO). If he ends up in NY though, it's going to be an awesome stretch run of baseball:thumbsup: They would have had a shot at signing him in 1.5 years anyways. Let them gut their system. Honestly I hope they trade Joba, Jackson, Montero and others. This is kind of weird to be let leaked though. You would think it would detour the other suitors if they knew in the end the Yankees would get the last call.
  14. Agreed. Jacko wears his Yankee Blue tinted glasses some of the time, but we all do at one point(just some more then others;)). But Jacko's always got interesting thoughts and opinions, and that's what I look for most. He is willing to go out on a limb and completely miss the boat, and will come back for more:D I like what Dutchy brings to the plate too. But I have seen plenty of posters start out good, get into pissing contest's with the few Yankees fans that are on this site and fizzle out quick. Hopefully Dutchy you don't fall by the way side.
  15. Davis has much more upside the Bates. And wouldn't be a bad return for a 39 year old RP.
  16. Here's Texas top 20 prospects(minus Andrus cause he's everyday player in the MLB now) Perez and Smoak are a hell of a start. They lack the SS Toronto is said to be wanting in return. They could sub a Catcher. From there they could go for a higher ball pitcher like Holland, or maybe a couple lower level guys.
  17. Just throwing some names around, nothing concrete.
  18. It's possible. The Rangers where interested in Saito as well. If they could pick up Saito and Halladay, I think they would be the favorites in the AL West. Not sure who's contract they would want to shed. Young is the starting 3B. Maybe Blaylock, but you would think they would need his bat. I wouldn't mind a deal in which maybe the Sox help Texas out with some money, and maybe get Chris Davis back. I know he is a huge K threat, but you never know what the Sox staff could do with him. He has legit power. Texas Gets, Halladay, Saito+ $ Boston get's, Chris Davis, Toronto get's, Perez, Teagarden, Smoak+ 1 more pitcher?
  19. If the Rangers weren't broke, they would probably be the favorites. They can make a really nice package. I'm surprised to see them mentioning the Sox as a front runner. Philly makes more sense. I don't see the Sox getting Halladay unless the move Penny or Dice-K. I honestly don't see the Sox trading Buchholz anyways.
  20. I do my best;) Being a Lead-off hitter is overrated IMO.
  21. You then take away Ellsbury's ability to steal bases. It's just like having him lead off. Why have him stealing bases in front of RBI guys? Have him in front of the guys that basically are singles guys. Then his SB become more valuable, and not as risky as having him do it in front of the big hitters.
