  1. Thank you CD for starting the thread. I apologize for not making one. I've been at a tournament all day and I thought the today's game was a night game and I have time to make one. Only after many celebratory drinks did I manage to get home and find the game in the 7th lol. Not sure where this puts us for Game 1. Feel free to continue if you'd like. It's the least I can offer for your tightening of the slack
  2. ^ This Riccardi sucks. But I would imagine he gets work elsewhere. Which teams GM spots may be opening up? I'm sure ends up somewhere, maybe not as a GM, but somewhere in the FO.
  3. Cleveland Guardians http://thm-a03.yimg.com/image/b461f8c809b5de9e @ Boston Red Sox http://media.winknews.com/images/boston_red_sox.jpg Some f***ing guy named "Laffey" (7-8) http://thm-a02.yimg.com/image/80a7caf2e3044c52 vs JFB (16-6) http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/f5d2d522e080305e Sorry for the hurried thread, going out and wasn't sure I'd be back in time to start it before the game. Go Sox!
  4. I'm all for a one year deal for Harden. Harden wouldn't be a bad option for the #5 spot.
  5. He's going to leave after 2010. Might as well get something for him. Besides we all were like "Farrell should wait for a better job" when his name was being mentioned with the Pirates. Cleveland is about as good as a situation as he could hope for.
  6. http://www.concerttickets.com/images/baseball/Cleveland%20Indians.jpg Cleveland Guardians @ http://thm-a03.yimg.com/image/5ffa16dda9d0b01a Boston Red Sox Sowers (6-10) http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/cc65deeec0c439e8 vs Dice-K (3-6) http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/.e1d/img/4.0/global/baseball/mlb/players/7906.jpg http://thm-a04.yimg.com/image/e539a219ee27518c For all the Guardians fans joining us. This is John Farrell, he will be managing your team next year. Get pumped!
  7. Anyone have any idea what the compensation would be? If it's a 1st rounder or a supplemental pick let him go
  8. I've been a Drew supporter from the start. He's a great fit on this team.
  9. Cleveland Guardians (65-93) http://www.baseball-almanac.com/logos/indians2.jpg @ W-Boston Red Sox (91-67) http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/5ce5860a3e5e28ba Carrasco (0-3) http://a.espncdn.com/i/headshots/mlb/players/65/28968.jpg vs Lester (14-8) http://thm-a03.yimg.com/image/819442c75b00f15e Hopefully the Sox can get off their 6 game skid before entering the playoffs. I think they ran into an extremely hot Toronto ball club that had been tearing the cover off the ball all month. http://d.yimg.com/a/p/ap/20091001/capt.6568af80c1594f53bcc9571cba2ff631.white_sox_indians_baseball_ohmd121.jpg Cleveland hopefully mails it in with Wedge now being fired.
  10. Buchholz. No worries though. Took me forever to get it right myself
  11. I would have to say the pitching match ups look to favor the Red Sox the 1st 2 games.
  12. Fix'd
  13. http://castrovince.mlblogs.com/archives/2009/09/wedge_entire_coaching_staff_di.html I know there going to have interest in Farrell. But there is a clause in his contract making him unavailable until after 2010. Could we see some compensation headed to the Sox, and Farrell heading to Cleveland? Edit: I goofed the title while tryign to do to many things at once LOL Mod please fix, thanks.
  14. Kind if depends on what Dice-K give in his last start IMO. But lets look at the different scenarios for conversational sake. Game 3- Sox up 2-0 in series. I'd go with Buchholz to try and wrap up the series, with Dice-K for game 4. Game 3- Sox tied with LAA 1-1. Very important game. This is tough. I think I'm leaning Buchholz here. 6+ IP 9/15 is hard to ignore. Especially when you know Dice-K could come out and through 100 pitches in 3 innings. Game 3- Sox down 0-2. Kidnap Felix Hernendez, tape his eyes back, and give him # 18
  15. Wow some of you are spoiled. Backed into the playoffs? Sneak in?:wtf: You think some Pirates or Royals fan would give 2 flying you know whats if they "backed" into the playoffs? You think Rangers fans would have whined about "sneaking" into the playoffs? Get real. How about you give them credit for being in a position to where they could loose 5 games in a row and still clinch a playoff spot. This new "Yankeesish self entitlement that's going around with some Red Sox fans is getting old. Be glad there in. Nothing else matters at this point. Except the series VS LAA. Congrats to the Sox for another Playoff berth. And good luck! Go Red Sox!
  16. Evening all!
  17. I think the team should stick with Ellsbury in CF. I'm not sold on Beltran being able to play there every day going forward. An OF defense of Beltran(LF), Ellsbury(CF), Drew(RF) could really cover some ground in the OF. Like Dojji mentioned, Ellsbury, Reyes and Beltran at the top of the order should really produce a lot of runs in theory. It be fun to watch:D
  18. What? I'm not allowed to joke around and give the guy some crap? As much as I take? And a fair portion from you...:thumbdown Hypocrisy at it's best;)
  19. I only mention him because I'm sure the Mets would want a ML caliber SP back. Beckett/Lester/Buchholz I would assume not be going anywhere. That leaves Dice-K, because I don't feel and of the other SP prospects are close enough. I'm not just saying his name because I want him out of town or anything like that. He was the SP going the other way from process of elimination.
  20. I don't think his price would be that high. They might ask but they probably know already it's going to be a no. I think Reyes price tag($), plus his bout with injuries ultimately lowers his trade value. I think it could be more of a Bowden/MDC/+1 type deal. The +1 being a young low level pitcher, one of the better OF prospects, or a SS/C prospect. Given Reyes question marks, I would think that be a good deal.
  21. I don't think Reyes would be extremely expensive. He's got 10:$9M, 11:$11M club option ($0.5M buyout) left on his deal. Not too bad, but not exactly peanuts. Given the Mets current financial circumstances, it wouldn't be to bold to say they might be cutting payroll soon. Don't see them moving Santana. Too difficult IMO. Plus his elbow issue. Not sure I see Wright moving either. It be nice, but he seems like the player to build around. You could make a case for Beltran and Reyes being made available. Besides those 4, there isn't much else I'd be that interested in.
