  1. With Young coming in it will probably be something they focus on.
  2. Oh k sorry, when I read it I took it as that was your opinion as well.
  3. So there just supposed to blow there money now just because they have it? They aren't allowed to save it so the can drop 150M in Agon's lap to secure him as the teams 1B for 2012-2018? That's just dumb. The team will be fine with Youk going to 3B and the team bringing in a one year guy to keep the seat warm for Agon. Can you please not only look at the immediate upcoming season, and try to have a small margin of vision. Even with no one signed they have something like 120M committed to next season. That's way more then most teams. So there not exactly stuffing it under their mattress.
  4. Well to make the moves that will really help this team going forward they might not be able to "do" much this particular off season.
  5. Well then I definitely think they will try and work him out of the BP.
  6. And why not? If he works out, great. if not, well oh well.
  7. He has to say he "wants" those guys back. If not, there would be a lynch mob waiting for him outside headed by a700 I don't think those 2 are part of the long term plan anyways. The RP part is much more reasonable.
  8. Does he have any options left? Are they allowed to send him to the minors or does he have to be on the ML team? If that is the case then I think trying to develop him as a RP is probable. If he can go down to the minors and they can tinker with him then why not let him try to keep starting?
  9. Control. He has great velocity.
  10. I would be ok with that.
  11. I read Crawford was looking for 100M plus. Werth turned down 4/66M to stay in Philly. So it will probably be more then that. 4-5 years at 15-17M per is probably around what he gets.
  12. They can't be too strapped for cash if they picked up the 11M option on Reyes. I would be surprised if Alderson didn't try and bring some talent back for Beltran. Even if it means he has to pick up 5M or so this season. And Beltran isn't 17.5M next season he's 18.5M. Not a big difference but I had mentioned the incorrect figure a couple times in other posts.
  13. One of my only hopes is that he someone how gets 7 years from the Yankees. Or that the Nats throw 6 years 150M at him and he takes it
  14. I think he was implying the Yankees as division winners and that Toronto would still have Boston, TB and the next WC team to make it though. I could be wrong though.
  15. I read that Crawford is expecting more then 100M. Werth has already turned down 4/66M. I thnk it's reasonable to start looking at the plan B's and C's that may be out there. Beltran makes sense if they don't have to take on his whole salary. What about Magglio Ordonez on a 1 year deal? Would add a RH bat to the lineup. I haven't heard anything bad about his rehab. I read Detroit is interested in bringing him back, so he can't be too bad off.
  16. I thought Grienke wanted to go to a team that had better chances of winning and making the playoffs? Maybe Toronto's FO knows of some re-alignment that we don't know about yet :dunno: If he wants to be on a low key team with no chance of winning he should just stay in KC. Why banish yourself to Canada and still have no sht at winning?
  17. No thanks. This teams best hope of improving the offense for now and the future is to make smart short term deals for 2011(get over it a700, offensively it's going to be another bridge season at 1B/3B IMO), that will allow them to remain flexible in the roster so that they can add one of the big 3 for 2012-2018 run.
