  1. Yes I know he needs to do a few more things. But all the "sky is falling" crowd have been running around here for a month like chickens with their heads cut off, claiming Theo was only talking and needed to get off his ass and do something. Seems like he's been in discussions with Werth and Crawford and pulled off a trade for Agon. Not bad for a guy that can't close the deal.
  2. Ya imagine that. Theo did well for sitting around with his thumb up his ass
  3. I'm sure he can manage for 2 years.
  4. I jumped initially, but calmed down once I found out the details.
  5. I really hope Ranaudo and Vitek aren't part of the deal.
  6. I believe that means a player from this years draft. Could Hoyer have squeezed out Vitek? edit: Ok I got beat twice...
  7. MLBTR is reporting it is a done deal, but that the contract may take a couple days to work out. So an official announcement may take a bit.
  8. I have been saying this for months. Agon was the future and any player that could prevent them from getting him would not becoming to the Red Sox long term. I thought they would wait until later and get him. But everything else seemed to line up.
  9. Ya that's best case scenario. What if Detroit signs Crawford/Werth and LAA sign 2 of Crawford/Beltre/Soriano. The Sox will be getting no 1st rounders.
  10. I can deal with that package. No Kalish an no Iglesias? Win. Kelly will be good, but not for awhile. And Fuentes also has good upside but wouldn't have contributed for awhile. This is a sweet package. So much for all those claims of having to sell the farm to pry Agon away from SD
  11. Well with him being in Boston to take a physical and MLB granting a window for extension talks, I think it's fair to be more optimistic then at anytime during the Agon saga. But yes the ink isn't dry yet.
  12. Dammit you sleepy heads wake up and celebrate with me!!
  13. I bet he gets a few million raise this season. Somewhere around 10-15M. And then 5-7 years at 18-22M AAV for the extension. I don't like the fact Iglesias is assumed to be in the deal. But I will learn to cope if he is.
  14. I'm dancing the jig lol
  15. More then likely.
  16. So Agon possibly going to the Red Sox, who would have thought :dunno: I agree with Jacko, from what I read it's probably a 4-1. Which is more then I thought SD could get with Agon having surgery and only one year left on his deal. But if it get's it done, so be it. I'm guessing it's Kelly and Rizzo(most reported two names) + Doubront and possibly Reddick/one of the SS prospects not named Iglesias.
  17. Not sure why some people thought they wouldn't be in on him. Like the never traded an incumbent for an high priced all star before
  18. Seems straight forward. Hoyer was commended for being honest with the fans about the chances of Agon being a Padre next season. He will test the market. He will get a Tex like deal. Ony 3 teams were willing to go there for Tex. One has him. One is a yearly contender, one is a rebuilding franchise. How are the Sox not the best natural fit?
