  1. I'd go with Hanley...but if you take Pujols, you won't suffer either. There is a big dropoff between 2 and 3 IMO. After Hanley and Pujols, there's a bit of a drop to the next tier.
  2. I need some RP help. I can offer SP or 1B [Pujols, Huff, or Giambi]. Talk to me. Anyone.
  3. Jacko...I have a question for you. I'm not saying this to paint you in a corner...but do you have a position on the Yankees moves? No matter what they do, you love it. They go with kids, you love it. They go with veterans, you love it. They draft a guy, you love him. They trade for a guy, you love the deal. I've seen you flip/flop so much, I don't know where you stand on players, or franchise model, or pretty much anything. I'd love to hear where you stand, without any sort of debate, on how you feel on the Yankees, their players, and their direction, their business model, etc. Really, I'd like to know.
  4. He sucks. Everyone in the Yankee farm system sucks with the possible exception of Jesus Montero or Romero or whatever his name is. Everyone in Boston sucks except for Lars [what kind of first name is Lars anyways]. They all suck. f*** them.
  5. About time. Makes sense on nearly every level you can come up with. Jeter was third in all of baseball in hitting into double plays over the last three years. He has a higher OBP than Damon in his career. He breaks up two lefties in Gardner and Damon [i expect Gardner to steal a lot more bases as he tries to avoid Jeter's double plays].
  6. He's among the best ORS. Who do you think is a great manager, ORS? I picked the A's because they got Holliday and Giambi, and their pitching is going to be better. Add those two, and take away Krod, and more importantly Tex and Anderson, and replace them with Abreu, and you've got an older and inferior team. Anyways, everyone else is picking the Angels, so I needed to be different. The AL East will be a two dog race, with the Rays nipping at the heels. I expect the Rays to take a step back this year, although a small one.
  7. Melky sucks. f*** him.
  8. Need to trade again.
  9. I have no idea. AL East...no clue. Three way tie. All three teams make the playoffs. Twins and A's play consolation game. AL Central. Twins. AL West. A's [sleeper pick] NL East. Mets NL Central. Astros. Just kidding. Cubs NL West. Dodgers. The AL East features in my mind the three best teams in baseball. The winner of the division will be the one that has the least injuries in the rotation.
  10. This is a good one. Red Sox Fans...Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.
  11. Mein Kampf.
  12. If I'm gay, there is no hope for our species.
  13. Gay.
  14. Day late, dollar short my good man. I'm surprised I took this long to make a deal.
  15. Who is Team Dynasty? I sent him a proposal the first day but I haven't heard from him.
  16. FAIL.
  17. Not from me..but from the Yankees themselves! Go to http://www.yankees.com Um...they only have the premium seats available. Only $2625 plus $59 per ticket as a convenience charege. YAY! This is truly ridiculous.
  18. Bill James had a great article in his fielding bible. He said that all of the terrible fielders were inherently some of the best players in the game. The reason being was that for them to stay in the league, their other talents would have to compensate for their deficiences. There are really no terrible hitting AND terrible fielding players. If you're terrible at one thing, you're great at something else to make up for it. Makes a lot of sense. Jeter has poor range, but he makes up for it at the plate. When the day comes that he doesn't, he'll move. People are noticing his defense more because of an increase in our understanding of defense in baseball and because he's declining as a hitter and as a fielder...so the gap when Jeter ceases to be an elite overall SS is coming closer and closer.
  19. I think Jeter will move to CF. Yount did it, and let's face it...what other team wants a poor-poor ranged SS. The fact is that the Yankees will tolerate Jeter's deficiencies longer than any other team. The Red Sox are going through the same thing with Varitek.
  20. The best part of the new stadium...you can drink in the bleachers, and they are connected to the stadium. I f***ing love it!
  21. Hats off to one of the best competitors. Hope you ride off in the sunset happy, Curt. I tip my hat to you.
  22. I'm losing my touch. A gentle reminder to all. Please take the time to respond to offers. I've responded to all who have sent them to me. Please give your other members that much respect.
  23. He must live in the Bronx.
