  1. Games started by Molina: April 9: Yankees win 11-2 [burnett] April 12: Yankees lose 4-6 [Chamberlain] April 14: Yankees win 7-2 [burnett] April 15: Yankees win 4-3 [Pettitte] Games started by Posada: April 6: Yankees lose 5-10 [sabathia] April 8: Yankees lose 5-7 [Wang] April 10: Yankees win 4-1 [Pettitte] April 11: Yankees win 6-1 [sabathia] April 13: Yankees lose 5-15 [Wang] As a starter, Posada is 2-3, and Molina is 3-1. Last year, the Yankees pitching overachieved, and Mussina won 20 games for the first time in his career. Wonder why? Idiots like diaper can't figure it out. A catcher has the greatest defensive impact on the game, IMO. Molina is great at stopping the running game, but his biggest asset by far is his ability to steal strikes. I've never seen anyone better at framing pitches in my life. [With due respect to Ausmus, who I've never really seen play, but I've heard is tremendous at it]. Just watch when Molina catches a game. Watch how he frames nearly every pitch. Then watch Posada. He does the opposite. Borderline pitches are called balls because he drops his glove on nearly every pitch to the ground. I said it last year when Posada got hurt. It was a blessing in disguise for the Yankees pitching staff. Molina is atrocious at the plate. Posada is worse in the field. What is unbelievably frustrating is that if he just FRAMED a pitch...held his glove instead of dropping it to the ground, he'd be an amazing overall catcher. It's sickening.
  2. Another blessing in disguise. The Yankees are better off without Nady. Swisher will get more ABs, Melky is now the defensive replacement. Another injury in the OF will hurt, but for now, a blessing in disguise. Just like Posada last year. It is any wonder that the three worst pitching performances, all resulting in losses, were with Posada behind the plate?
  3. Wow...how the mighty have fallen. Calling for a split at home against the O's.
  4. Dude...you're on a roll. I'm loving your posts these days.

I haven't watched Ortiz yet, but if that's the point, then it's likely his knee is bothering him.
  6. 2-7....I can feel it.

  8. You really think an announcer has anything to do with a game? Are you serious?
  9. Ok, good night guys...hopefully Cust either scores the winning run or drives it in.
  10. Umm...we pretty much did the same s*** last night. Burnett took care of it for us tonight though.
  11. Does Papelbon go two innings here?
  12. You know what's funny on gamecast? Lowell's hit zone is all red, and he's hitting .194. Youk is all blue, and he's hitting over .500.
  13. Kilo, trade with me.
  14. Come on Cust...end it. A homer for fantasy, and a loss for the Sox.
  15. QUOTE OF THE f***ING YEAR!!!
  16. Maybe he just sucks to start the season.
  17. Yeah...but my hitting is also on fire with a .563 OBP. Baseball is a weird game.
  18. If the Red Sox lose, it will at least take the sting out of this game. One thing about Wang though...he usually throws his sinker at 93-95. Today, he's at 88-89. Wonder what's up with decrease in the velocity. Thanks to Wang and the Big Unit, in fantasy, my whip is currently 4.07. s***...I'd hate it if that was my ERA. LOL!!!!!
  19. Wang has been outright terrible. Oh well...just hope you come back strong tomorrow. Girardi has to realize that putting Posada with Wang will make this a merry go round on the bases.
  20. For throwing a ball over Abreu's head, which initiated a bench-clearing incident. Question: Do you think Joba should have been suspended the first time he did it to Youk? If the answer is yes, then this also has to be yes. If the answer is no, then this should also be no. To say yes to one and no to the other shows zero credibility. I say [and said] yes to both. Brushbacks are one thing. When you take someone's career and potential life in your hands, you should sit down. Period.
  21. There is a difference. Both should have be suspended. Joba should have been suspended the first time he did it.
  22. I think players should get suspended if they throw at a guys head. I thought Joba should have been when he threw at Youk, and the same here.
  23. I'm still a Coke fan. He gave up two hits on balls out of the strike zone. It happens. Last I remember, Papelbon gave up a homer to Hunter on a pitch up and away. The problem was Veras. Two out walk. Plus Kilo...I think you should worry about your own team, and the possible suspension of your best pitcher.
  24. True on many accounts. It was a very stress-free start. The Yankees gave him an early lead, and then poured it on. The Royals swung at every pitch, so he didn't put runners on base. What I'm saying is that the quality of the pitcher doesn't necessarily drop off at a magical number, like 100. His velocity and location were the same for the first batter of the game as it was for the last batter of the game. Remember...relievers are pitchers too. If you can give them a break, great. Works both way.
  25. Man...you guys are such slaves to pitch counts. Someone explain to me how we are more advanced today in medicine and overall health, yet pitchers of yesteryear pitched much, much more. Anyways.. CC is fine. He got knocked around in Baltimore. He didn't go as much as he normally does. Also, Girardi has Joba pitching tomorrow, so by CC going a bit farther, that's one less reliever he had to use today. CC is a horse. He's fine. The problem isn't going to be CC wearing down. If anything, it will be the bullpen wearing down. Remember, a bullpen is most effective when it is not in the game. You guys are ridiculous.
