  1. Hughes will be best remembered for the main reason Cashman gets fired. He will never be more than a back of the rotation starter....if that. What a collosal waste of trade bait.
  2. Right about now. I don't expect Red Sox fans to see what I see, because you have a decent defensive catcher. I am shocked that people who call themselves Yankee fans can't see how Posada negatively affects the staff. Cervelli is no Molina behind the plate, but he keeps the pitchers around the plate. If Matsui can get in the OF, making Swisher the supersub, and Posada takes over DH, this team will be incredible.
  3. No. Not at all, not in the slightest. He plays hard, he does the best he can, and he plays with emotion. What's wrong? That he get's pumped up when he strikes someone out? Get serious. So a player shouldn't clap his hands after he gets a hit, or high-five a teammate in the dugout after he scores to bring his team to within 5 runs? Papelbon goes nuts after a save, last night's performance was hardly earth-shattering, he allowed two baserunners, and you'd think he just won the World Series. My point is, celebrations should be a part of the game, and I'd love to see more of it. It pumps up players, gets the crowd into it, and makes it more fun. No harm at all, Kilo.
  4. Not really ORS. He's getting himself pumped up. It was like when Manny watched homers from home plate when the Sox were losing. Some players just do it, period.
  5. I have no problem with players celebrating. Papelbon does it after the end of every game. Joba does it. I don't see the problem with it.
  6. Is it any wonder the Yankees have had two games in which their pitchers gave up a total of 3 runs, and the only game they got bombed was by your idiot GM's posterboy for s***** pitching? Watch Cervelli. He isn't great at framing pitches, but he shows his glove before the windup and holds the pitch. What shows me how stupid you really are is that you don't see it. Like ORS, you are too stubborn to admit when you're 100% wrong, which like him, is more often than not. You know, I really hope, for your patients sake, that you are not as stupid and stubborn as you are here. If so, I would take the under on how long you keep your license.
  7. You know, in a way...I envy Jacko sometimes. In his world..it never rains, the sun is always at his back...I swear, if there was a tsumami coming, he think it would be great weather for surfing.
  8. Congrats. You still have no idea about baseball.
  9. Didn't play college. Wasn't good enough to get on Hofstra's squad. Cervelli has already done a better job with the pitching staff than Posada has done. Two games he caught, the Yankees gave up less than five runs. There is no one in Posada's class offensively. Conversely, the same exists defensively. It's just a matter of which one is more important to you.
  10. Dude...I travelled over 800 miles to watch the Yankees lose twice in Baltimore. Not fun.
  11. That's it. Jeter juiced. Look at his homerun totals. He broke 20 three times. Clueless....
  12. He juiced in 2007. There is little doubt about that. When Ortiz realized he was about to be released, he starting juicing. He only stopped when he realized if he got caught, that would be it for him and his legacy in Boston. I didn't know what I was taking...the funny thing is that some people believe that line. What a crock of s***.
  13. I said most of you guys, example1..and you know I wouldn't include you in it. You're not hypocritical if you celebrate your team winning and your rivals losing. However, there are a lot of people here who loved it when Arod was caught. Remember..he was caught with Texas...not in NY. It didn't matter [and I'm not naive to think that he wasn't in NY]. It's just desserts.
  14. Jacko..did you watch the game? This ump had a wider strikezone than DipreG's mother. Maybe, however, this is what they needed to get untracked.
  15. I think it's ********. I'm vetoing every deal from now on. I understand the need for vetoing deals, but what is it..one vote? There's barely any trading done at all! The deal was a fair one, one where I gave up more talent down the road, but for a boost now, as I needed it since I lost Manny. Total ********. I amended the deal a bit, but if this one gets rejected, screw this league. No offense SFOC, as you're a great commish.
  16. ROFLMAO!!!! Jeter's home run total? Holy s***, that was funny. Rivera didn't come out of nowhere, join a new team, and then miraculously turn around and become a great hitter. He also didn't drop off the face of the earth after stricter steroid testing was introduced. Of course they're tainted. I will never again have that pure joy of really winning a championship. That feeling of winning a championship due to clutch, or heart, etc. is gone. Now, the team that has the best masking agent wins.
  17. Are there any restrictions on trading that I should know about SFOC? This is the first time in my life I've ever seen a trade vetoed, and it seems very fishy to me.
  18. Please let me know why the trade was vetoed. If it was done by you SFOC and not by the league, please refund my dues.
  19. How am I a hypocrite? I realize that the players on my team do steroids. Do I believe Arod took PEDs as a Yankee? Absolutely. Posada? Probably. Mariano? I'd be surprised, as his velocity has been slowly decreasing over the years...and he's kind of an anomaly anyways in the sense that he's basically made a career out of one pitch, and hasn't gotten bigger than he was as a rookie. Rivera having a career year is more due to....drum roll please....Molina behind the plate more than anything else. Also...relievers have a lot of luck in their ERAs.
  20. You really believe he wasnt? What do you really think? No hearsay about it? Try these articles: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2009/02/19/2009-02-19_arods_pal_the_tainted_trainer_steroidlin.html?page=0 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsports.yahoo.com%2Fmlb%2Fnews%3Fslug%3Dortizsteroids&ei=Gt8ESqrpA8yYtgfrrtCKBw&usg=AFQjCNE1E3uU9_QoqbpC-qEnycGIh1JnXQ&sig2=LHca6gjor0vJQ7ZBxdELeg What we've seen in baseball when it comes to steroids...is that when there is smoke...there's usually fire.
  21. Include Papi there too. Unless you want to believe a player who was a marginal player, was picked up by the Red Sox, gained about 30 pounds of muscle and became a superstar...who strangely, after testing was introduced and bans created, became a crappy player again. Like I said...I accept it. You guys don't. You don't believe it, read the post above this one.
  22. 1) It shouldn't be up to you to decide. It should be up to the league. 2) See #1 3) That should be between you and him. Not fair to me who paid my dues. 4) No sense. If the league votes against the trade, that's one thing. If you're going to arbitrarily choose what trades to accept and not to accept, then kindly return my dues as I do not wish to continue in the league. I've made great trades and terrible trades, and no one can forsee the future. I gave up more talent in the deal, by far. Are you saying that I can't trade Manny because he's suspended? That I can't trade Posada, who's injured, but has value, and is a backup to Mauer for me? That's ********, and you know it. I traded a former All-Star and ERA leader, a temporary closer, and a guy hitting .339 for last years stolen base leader.
