  1. Pedroia sucks. Anyone want him?
  2. True. Now you may be getting a clue. We'll see on Sunday, but I'm not sold on Hughes or Kennedy.
  3. I will give you Beckett in a big game. That's obvious. Over the course of a season, Wang/Beckett are a wash. He's had 38 wins the last two years. Cumulative ERA, etc., over the last two years go to Wang. Everyone points to his abysmal failure in the playoffs, and is correct in doing so. However, over the course of a season, they are pretty much a wash. Matsuzaka and Pettitte are close, and over the course of the season, the combo of Pettitte/Wang and Dice-K/Beckett wont differ by more than 2 win IMO. The back end of the rotation is another wash. Buchholz, Lester, and Wake compared to Kennedy, Hughes, and Moose can go either way. The loss of Schilling hurt you guys big time. I like to think my pinstripe boys will outshine the Fenway trio, but if I was on your side, I'd think the other way. As for offense...I know it's early, but let me enlighten you. Manny's cheating a bit. He started to flail at the outside pitch last year, so he's moved in about an inch to make up for it. I was floored when Wang threw it by him, but when I checked the replay I realized he was in about an inch or so from last year. Damon is doing the same thing from our side. Giambi has been doing it for the last few years. Don't be surprised if Manny hits about 40% more near-homers this year that just go foul. The danger you guys face is if Papi starts showing his age as well. Just remember what happened to you guys in 2005 after you won in 2004. I don't have to remind you of history, do I? Class dissmissed.
  4. With no bugs...best 1-2 punch in the game. If we use bug spray, if we have a lead in the 8th, it's game over. Outside of Okajima and Papelbon..just who do you have? Timlin and Aardsma did a real stellar job today didn't they? I'm not going into the details of Bruney and Traber and Farnsworth and Timlin, MDC, etc. As far as I'm concerned it comes down to Oki/Paps and Joba/Mo. I'll take our two..but...I wouldn't complain if I had the other guys either. The rest of the staffs...on both sides...is total, unquestionable dogshit.
  5. Yes. Have you looked at yours? I'll take our five over your five [minus Schilling]. Offense, pen is ours over you. Defense is yours. Once again, pay some attention.
  6. I think if there is anything we have learned as a group is that when you get to October, it's a crapshoot. He has just a chance to be amazing as he does of being putrid. That goes for everyone. On another note...and this goes out to those of you that actually understand baseball...what's lost on a lot of people is that the Yankees pitching has been phenomenal. I give a lot of credit to Molina and I am calling out Jacko on his man-crush on Posada. The Yankees are a better team with Molina behind the plate. Even Jacko has to see that now. Tomorrow, watch how Molina [i hope he's catching] frames pitches and gets calls. If Posada catches, watch how Moose is out of the game in the 3rd inning.
  7. It's part of the game. How many runners did the Yankees leave on base? The rookie mistake by Gonzalez getting doubled off? If you ask me, it's Buchholz that got lucky tonight. Wang gave up a lot of flyballs...because he was mixing in his four-seamer. The Red Sox had a lot of success against him because they would wait on the sinker. They were getting under the four seamer. He struck Manny out earlier on a straight fastball. He's finally learning how to succeed without just one pitch. Like I said, MannyHOF24...try understanding what you're watching. Come back to me when you figure it out.
  8. Trying, but I can't get excited about Yanks/Sox in April. Just another ho-hum game to me. I've seen too many huge games over the years to bring the intensity up to October levels in April. I've been spoiled.
  9. LOL! You know, it's just that I don't buy the hype with young players. Of course, some of them turn out to be stars, but the majority of them don't. Jacko seems to want to be a Twins fan. Liking guys in the minors, watching them develop...it's not the way of a big market team. Someone like Jacko doesn't get it. Ok..so the Yankees bring up young players. So they cut payroll. So what? I got a letter from the Yankees asking me if I wanted premium seats next year. Only $700 a ticket per game. I also had to get them for a minimum of FIVE years. They make a ton of money. They will make even MORE money next year. So if they cut payroll, the ORGANIZATION makes more money, but I see a team that doesn't make the playoffs. Jacko, as sharp as he may be when it comes to medicine, just doesn't see the economics of baseball. He believes everything he reads. With the Yankees...it's not how much you spend...it's how you spend it. Case in point. We lose the pitching matchup to you this series. If Santana was here...we wouldn't. End of story.
  10. My girl is back. I will probably stop trading altogether until she leaves in July/August. s***. Someone trade with me quick.
  11. And you have a hard on for young boys.
  12. SOTK...you can do a lot better than that offer. You want two top twenty players for Mags. Doesn't do a thing for me. I'll look tonight and let you know if I see anything. By the way, you got a nice race with Thumper and Crespo in our sim. I have one offer out to Jeters Never Prosper and Caped Crusaders. I hope to hear back from them soon.
  13. I need SP/RP...so I'm putting up Carl Crawford on the block. One of the top 15 fantasy players on the block for pitching. Bring on the offers. Come strong...or don't come at all. What now?!?!? LOL!
  14. Should have traded him for Santana. f*** him and Kennedy. Cashman to be lit on fire and rolled down the Deegan. Film at 11.
  15. One matchup for us, one for them, one tossup. Eh.
  16. Which ones? Some good, some bad. I will trade as much as I can, that's the fun of fantasy baseball to me. I think I've given up a little too much pitching, but what the hell...it's all in fun anyways.
  17. At least the Red Sox aren't doing anything against the Jays. That's my only consolation at this point.
  18. I disagree that he's good. Being at the game, and not in my regular seats, it was difficult to ascertain his location, so I'll take your word for it. All I can tell you was that Molina was trying to frame 98% of his pitches, which to me meant he was missing with EVERY PITCH. Irrespective of that, even if he becomes a serviceable starting pitcher, he will NEVER, EVER, be as good as Santana. Not in a million years. As the centerpiece of the deal, he should have absolutely gotten traded to get the best pitcher on the planet. Hopefully we can find out how he bounces back in Scranton. Garbage. Jacko, we fundamentally disagree about young players. You think every young player will eventually be a star player, and I think that same player will just suck for longer. If given a chance to move a prospect for a proven player, I will do it every time. The Yankees have money. If Kennedy ends up being good, why not go get him when he's a free agent? If not, you got the best pitcher in baseball for the next few years. Instead, we got nothing...on both ends.
  19. I was piping all winter that the Yankees should trade Kennedy as one of the centerpieces for Santana. This kid is f***ing terrible. 87 MPH for a fastball at 22 years old? Are you f***ing kidding me? We could have had Santana by including this guy in a package deal? Cashman should have been fired before, now he should be drawn and quartered. Don't give me this ******** about one start. He isn't going to gain 8 MPH on his fastball in his next start. Or ever. I'm going to be sick. The only thing good about the game tonight was that at least sitting in the stands was nice. Perfect weather to watch the Yankees get bitch-slapped. It's also time to cut loose Farnsworth. They should just release the guy if they can't find a sucker to take him off their hand. He's just wasting a roster spot. Tell you the truth, and I can't believe I'm saying this...but we'd be better off with Igawa. They are both terrible, but Igawa can at least eat some innings while sucking. Igawa also pitched seven perfect innings tonight in the minors, where Kennedy will be soon. For good.
  20. LOL! Hey Jacko, too bad you had work...I threw out 9 tickets the last two days
