I love how people quote Papi's numbers against a pitcher now as if they are relevant. They aren't. He's a shell of himself, whether it's age or the PEDs..but he's not the same player. The number he put up 4 years ago are 100% irrelevant.

Let's see... Lackey signed for 82.5 million. Cameron signed for 15.5 million Beltre signed for 10 million. However, Bay signed for 66 million. Yet...you claim that the Red Sox signed Lackey, Cameron, and Beltre for the money it cost to sign Bay. How is this even remotely mathematically possible? Can you explain this? ONLY WHEN USING DIPRE LOGIC! I can't really buy the whole "don't trust his knees" when they sign Lackey, who has spent more time on the DL by far than Bay has. Honestly, I have no desire to make you look like a fool. Just realize that you're not making sense on this one.

I disagree. You don't bring in your 39 year old closer for a two inning save in the first week of the season. That's something the Red Sox would do.

I agree with you. However, because it happens so infrequently, and because it is not an advantage for either team, I choose to chalk it up to randomness.

Not really. This kind of thing was prevalent in baseball in the past. You do realize that the monuments were in play in the old stadium? I'm not saying I like it, but how different is it really from a bad hop on an infield? Games are not played in a vacuum. I believe you're letting your fandom cloud your judgement.

Well, like I said...I'd change it if I could. However, make a deal or two to fix it. It's a trade off..I didn't want people to hoard good guys off the DL and wait for them to get better. This league is active, and people can make deals to improve. I can't please everyone.
